Peterson's Message- K3 Director

Greetings MCP3 Team!

As we come to the close of April, let’s finish the month strong and grounded in what matters most. Each day is an opportunity to intentionally build the kind of culture we want MCP3 to reflect—a place that is safe, loving, and positive for every scholar, family, and staff member.

Our words, actions, and choices shape the environment around us. Let’s continue to be mindful of how we show up for one another—offering support, patience, and respect in every interaction. When we lead with care and consistency, we create a space where everyone feels valued, secure, and ready to work & learn.

Thank you for the dedication you bring each day. Let’s carry this energy through the rest of the month and into May..... and continue creating a culture we are proud of together.

Team Commitments

1. We agree to give each other grace and assume the best.

2. We agree to build those loving relationships every day..(smiling, greeting, communication)

3. We agree to proactive communication.

4. We agree to maintain positive relationships...public praise, private problem-solving

Huge shout out to the team for coming together and filling in where needed when we had staff members out for bereavement! From Minor and Keifer being here daily, to Stricklin and Carroll picking up aftercare hours, to Cathey covering.....your teamwork mentality really means a lot to all of us and shows the loving relationships in full action!!!! Love to you all!

Here are some important happenings and reminders:

Thank you all for ensuring we are meeting licensing rules for health and safety at all times! I see you all with your swept floors and blue water jugs!!!!

Positive Descriptive Feedback I have heard this week:

  • "Thank you for laying calmly on your cot!"
  • "Thank you for waiting patiently in line to hang up your coat."
  • "Thank you for your eyes and whole body listening."
  • "Thank you for your hug and bubble in the hallway."

Let's keep up the excellent work with PDF and ensuring we are acknowledging our scholars and each other for a job well done.

New Parent Orientation

We will be having New Parent Orientation on the following dates/times in April:

4/27 @ 4:00-5;00

4/28 @ 8:00-9:00

We want to ensure to leave a welcoming and positive first impression on our new families. Let's make sure our spaces are free of clutter and neatly organized. Let's make sure we are continuing to show up with excellence by following/referencing the schedule, using PDF, and having intentionally planned lessons in our classroom. Let's make sure we are consistently engaged with scholars.

People who Love us Event- 5/15/26 4:30-6:00pm

MCP3 is planning it's 2nd Family Night event for the school year. This will be our "People who Love us" event and is how we celebrate all those we love and love us instead of putting on a Spring program. If you are interested in volunteering please let me know by filling out this form.

ABC Countdown to Summer

MCP3 will be engaging in an ABC Countdown to bring some creative fun to the last 26 days of K3 for our scholars. Starting on Wednesday, 5/6, with the letter A and ending on 6/11 with the letter Z! Each day has a special focus that will also help our scholars to learn their letters in a fun way. Some days are simple and don't involve much planning or prep, and others do involve a little more preparation. MCP3 will provide the materials and some of the days' activities have links to resources and/or videos for the activity. Be sure to check out our ABC Countdown to Summer calendar and get excited!

MCP3 Completion Ceremony Details

  • 6/10 @ 9:00am in the North Gym
  • Scholars and staff may dress up (no caps or gowns)
  • All MCP3 Song Golden Track & MCP3 Golden Lyrics (we will all sing this together- start learning it as a class)

RANG

Continue to remind families to accept their weekly goal. Here is the list of scholars that have NOT accepted their goal for next week as of yet. Students that did NOT accept next week's goal list

Upcoming Parking Lot Construction

We are excited to share that construction will begin soon (anticipated date: April 30th) in the parking lot of our MCP Lola Rowe North campus. We are participating in the Fresh Coast Green Communities program which funds design, construction, and maintenance of green stormwater infrastructure through the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District. Our site will be receiving a new underground storage system that will hold almost 300,000 gallons of stormwater during every big storm. We're helping keep water out of our neighbor's basements and protect Lake Michigan. We're also updating our landscaping along the north side of the parking lot and all along Teutonia. These new plants will be tolerant to road salt and help clean the air around our campus.

During construction, the northern entrance off Teutonia will be closed. The northern portion of our parking lot will be fenced off and be inaccessible during construction. The southern entrance will remain open at all times. The southern area will remain accessible. There will be a few days where new pipe is being laid where some work will extend out of the fenced area. These areas will be coned off the day and will occur over the summer outside of the school year. The project will be substantially complete by September 15 with everything wrapped up by the end of October.

Please watch for a visual aid that will be shared later this week. We appreciate your patience in the coming months as the Fresh Coast Green Communities program works to improve our sewage system.

What does this mean for staff:

  • Four rows of parking will be unavailable
  • There will be one designated entrance and exit for approximately six months
  • Increased congestion in the parking lot is expected (Plan accordingly)
  • K3 Families still will need to park and walk their child in and out our main entrance and sign them in/out from the classroom

With all the Love and Respect,

Peterson
