Birthdays/Directories
In accordance with CCPS Regulation KJA-RA, we kindly remind families that birthday party invitations and other personal materials are not to be distributed by students or school personnel during the school day. The regulation states: “Personal materials such as student birthday party invitations are not to be distributed by students or school system personnel and are not the responsibility of the school system.” To ensure a respectful environment for all students, we ask that any invitations be shared outside of school hours and off school grounds. As a system, we are unable to distribute contact information for other families within the school. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
Picture Day
What to expect on picture day
- When an order is placed online, the parent/guardian will receive a camera pass via email. This can either be printed or texted to the student and brought to picture day. The photographer will photograph the printed camera pass along with the student.
- If a student is not able to print their camera pass, that is not a problem. We will match up the student to their order manually in the production process.
- A parent may order from the flyer up until 24 hours after picture day. After 24 hours, the online ordering access may close. This will allow our imaging team to "Pull" all orders submitted and match them with the students photographed.
- When pictures are returned to school, all students that purchased pictures will receive their prepaid package. Any student that was photographed but did not order a package, will receive a "Proof" (PX) of their picture that was taken on picture day.
All proof packages offer parents a second opportunity to order prints. All orders are subject to shipping and handling costs of up to $8.50 and will be shipped directly to home.
Attendance
Attendance is so important in your child accomplishing their instructional goals and growing as a successful learner. Students should be in school by 9:00 A.M. each day. Students are late after 9:00 A.M. We do understand that children get sick and that there are times that students are not able to attend school. We ask that you communicate with your child's teacher or speak with someone in the main office so that we can support your child when s/he returns. Again, our focus is on your child and his/her success. We ask that you work with us as we prepare for a successful year with your child! Good attendance makes a difference. It improves academic performance and promotes future success. Click here to review the CCPS attendance policy.
Our Cecil Manor Meerkats are participating in a fun and motivating attendance endeavor to encourage their daily presence in school. Each classroom has a Mr. Potato Head and will receive parts to add to it for every day the class has perfect attendance. When their Mr. Potato Head is complete, each student in the class will receive a bag of potato chips, presented by a very special guest. Then, the fun starts over as the class starts over collecting parts to complete their Mr. Potato Head, again with the goal of receiving a bag of chips. We want our Meerkats to know that they are “All that and a bag of chips” when they are here every day.
Cecil Manor Meerkat Market
The Meerkat Market food pantry has been closed the entire summer due to construction work in the school. We are excited to announce that it has reopened and is stocked with shelf-stable food items, hygiene products, and seasonal clothing. The Meerkat Market is accessible 24/7 and all items are free. It is located in the front of the school, to the left of the main doors.
If you would like to make a donation to the Meerkat Market, please place items in the box in the school's vestibule marked Meerkat Market. Please do not leave items in the Market itself.
