Family Update
October 18, 2026
Good afternoon, families!
We hope everyone has been enjoying this weekend! Thank you to those who were able to join us for a sweet day yesterday at Bing's Bakery for our PTO Spirit Day!
This Wednesday is UNITY DAY! Our goal is to remind students that we will stand up against bullying and want everyone to feel safe and welcomed at school. We are asking for students to wear orange on Wednesday for a school-wide photo.
Friday will be a PINK OUT day across CCPS for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. We are asking for all students to show off their pink!
We are excited to share that House Walk/Run shirts have been created and available for purchase. Shirts are just $11.66 (lowest price by the vendor)- Shirts are not required although recommended as they will be sprayed with chalk. This is a FREE event for families to walk/run, participate in crafts, and spend time together outside! There will be food trucks if you would like to purchase any items.
**Shirts must be ordered before October 26th to guarantee arrival before the event. Order your today at: https://www.personalexpressions.biz/elementary-schools/hhes-color-run-shirt-order-by-october-26-all-sizes-available/
We are asking for CANDY DONATIONS for our Trunk or Treat Extravaganza! Thank you to those who have already donated! Please send any additional donations to the main office.
SAVE THE DATE: Our HHES Trunk or Treat Extravaganza will take place on Friday, October 30th. We are happily accepting candy donations to make this event SWEET! Please send any donations to the office and contact Mr. Bill Clouser at wlcouser@ccps.org if you would like to reserve a space to host a trunk!
YOUR OPINION MATTERS!
School-Year Budget: 2027 - 2028
It is hard to believe we are already planning for next year's CCPS budget. This is separate from the funding we receive for being a Title I or Community School. Please take a moment to complete this brief survey as your input is appreciated!
Smiles with Moms!
We are so excited to kick off our Morning Smiles with Moms and have some shared time with the special ladies in our lives! We hope that you will join us on the sidewalks for both our bus and car riders to welcome our Herons. Our parking lot is a busy place- We ask that you park in the driveway across the street at Five Rivers Church. Please plan to arrive at 8:40 with your smile ready:-) Our last bus and car are usually in by 9:00. If you are interested in joining us, please complete the form below or reach out to our school counselor, Tahiya (Cooper) James at tecooper@ccps.org with any questions.
We look forward to a very exciting, fun filled morning!

October is National Bullying Prevention Month:
In our opinion, every month should be National Bullying Prevention Month! ParentGuidance.org has shared several resources to support families and students!

From the Judy Center:
The Holly Hall Judy Center Early Learning Hub supports families with children age birth through five, not yet enrolled in school within the Holly Hall Elementary School attendance area. We offer free programming including weekly family/child playgroups, monthly workshops and family engagement events. Additionally, we can connect families to resources including but not limited to food, shelter, medical insurance and more!
Do you have a child birth through age five and not yet enrolled in school? We would love to have you join our weekly playgroups. Our playgroups are one hour long with 45 minute intentional play and a 15 minute group activity. We always end with bubbles!
Please reach out to our Judy Center Staff for more information.
