Irving Elementary Weekly Update

Irving Families,

Thank you to everyone who joined us for Curriculum Night last week! We are excited for a great year ahead. If you were unable to attend, you can find the presentation that Ms. Z and I shared linked below.

Next week, we will begin sending iPads home with students. Please be sure to complete our Wireless Device Agreement Form before then. This form ensures that you and your student have reviewed the expectations for caring for the device.

September also marks the start of Hispanic Heritage Month. Beginning on September 15th, our students will learn about different foods, traditions, and cultural contributions.

We are also launching our first PBIS Booster of the year with a focus on empathy and inclusion. The week of September 15–19 is a national call-to-action week dedicated to these topics. In connection with The Sandy Hook Promise’s “Start with Hello” program, we’ll celebrate with a week of activities highlighting empathy, friendship, and inclusion. Each day has a special theme, which you’ll find outlined in the flyer below.

For Meet-N-Greet Monday, your child brought home THIS PAGE to complete. Please help them fill it out and return it to their teacher—we’ll use these to decorate a bulletin board for the week.

Next Friday, we will be holding a Spirit Day! Please plan to wear your Irving Eagles gear. If you are in need of spirit wear, please check out the PTO update below for ordering information.

Finally, don’t forget to wear your Chicago Bears gear on Monday to show support for our home team as they kick off their season against the Minnesota Vikings!
