Lutherville Lab Report
What's gone down & what's coming up at the leopards' lair.
March 4, 2022
The story of this week was the respect, understanding, and kindness that students showed one another in regard to optional mask-wearing. I am so proud of our school community for how they supported one another through this change. Unfortunately, this was also the week the stomach virus came to Lutherville. We wish all families well as we get through this wave and have worked with Office of Health Services for a deep clean of the primary classrooms, bathrooms, and cafeteria.
We also enjoyed Read Across America Week and launch of the Lutherville Lab Read-A-Thon 2022! A reminder to continue to encourage and track reading minutes for readathon! And we'll continue to have online read-alouds with staff members on Wednesday evenings the next two weeks using the Google Meet Code: "LLreadaloud" from 7:00 - 7:30 on March 9th and March 16th.
For interested families, please see the attached meeting schedule for the remainder of the year for the Special Education Citizens Advisory Committee. There are upcoming meetings regarding autism, twice exceptional students, and transition.
We wish everyone a healthy and wonderful weekend!

Kids Heart Challenge-
Our students have done a great job learning about the heart and jumping rope the past month. Thank you to all the families that helped us fight heart disease and supported this great cause. We raised over $7,000 for the American Heart Association and truly appreciate your support. The majority of prizes will be delivered to students in about six weeks.
Ballroom Dance-
The 5th grade ballroom dance program is the week of March 14-17. This one week program is taught by Abby Stone, a professional dance instructor. The program not only teaches students about dance forms, their origins, and provides a practical experience in social and partner dance, but emphasizes dance etiquette and decorum, both valuable character education components.
A typical week provides the following ballroom lessons, Merengue, Tango, Swing, and Cha-Cha.
A special thank you to our PTA for providing this program to our students!

Please save and share the dates below for Kindergarten Round-Up for the 2022-2023 school year! This is for children who will be 5-years-old by September 1, 2022.
The in-person round-up event will allow families to have their child meet a kindergarten teacher, confer on registration documents with office staff, meet additional support staff members, and (hopefully) take a brief tour of the school.
April 1st: 1:30 – 4:00
May 3rd: 12:30 – 4:00
Please have interested families complete this form: Kindergarten Enrollment Contact Information
Outside of these dates, registration can also be completed online or by appointment, but these dates are preferred if workable for families.
