From Hamilton To Home
May 2026
MAY UPDATES AND REMINDERS
Parents/Families,
It's hard to believe that we have made it to the month of May. May symbolizes the nearing of the end of the school year. We have had so many wonderful events and made many memories this school year. During the month of May, we will be completing end of year assessments, participate in fun activities in the warmer weather, including bike to school and field day. We will see Preschoolers and Kindergarteners graduate and move to the next grade. Fourth graders will become middle schoolers and time will continue to move forward as we move into summer break. I want to thank you for your collaboration and communication throughout the 25/26 school year. If you should have questions regarding any end of year activities, please feel free to reach out to your child's teacher for more information.
Best,
Principal Putt

FROM THE OFFICE
Please review the following reminders regarding current district policies. These policies are in place for the safety of all students. Hamilton Elementary appreciates your support with student safety.
Student absent call-offs
Only a custodial parent/guardian can give permission to call a student off for the day.
Student early release
Only a custodial guardian/parent can give permission for a student to be released early from school.
Student release/pick-up
Students can only be released or picked up by a custodial parent/guardian unless the parent has identified another person this permission in PowerSchool. If there is a last-minute change where you need to add a pickup person, we ask that they send an email confirming this. You can always add a new contact for us in PowerSchool as well.
Visitor identification
All visitors that arrive at any building or team office to pick up a student must present a valid state ID.
CLASSROOM TREATS AND PARTIES
We have students who have allergies (some severe) that may develop a reaction, as a result of certain foods being permitted and passed out during special occasions such as birthdays, classroom parties, rewards, etc. This is something the kids love and should be able to enjoy.
However, to keep all students safe, It's imperative that all foods brought from the outside are store bought (not homemade) and have nutrition information on them to check ingredients. If the ingredients aren't available, they may not be distributed.
We have students with all kinds of allergies (peanuts, tree nuts, eggs, dairy, wheat, gluten, etc.). We also have students with medical conditions who can't eat certain foods as well.
Ideally parents should notify the school/teacher at least 24 hours prior to when they bring in treats so that the teacher can check for allergies.
Non-food treats are encouraged, such as stickers, pencils, glow sticks, bracelets and other kid-friendly items.

Be sure to review the "3 B's" with your child. These are discussed each and every day.
BE RESPECTFUL
BE RESPONSIBLE
BE READY TO LEARN
At Hamilton, we believe in teaching students to be confident young people. Every morning, we start the day by reciting the Hamilton Affirmation which states:
I am SOMEBODY
I and CAPABLE and LOVEABLE
I am TEACHABLE
Therefore, I can LEARN
I will not waste TIME
Because, it is too VALUABLE
And I am too PRECIOUS and BRIGHT
I am SOMEBODY
Please practice the affirmation with your child and review what it means. I am also looking for students who can proudly recite the affirmation during the morning announcements.
