Helen Hunt Jackson Community Newsletter - November
November Principal's Message
Dear JES Families,
We would like to give a huge shout out to our JES PTA and ambassadors for our fun filled month- Boo Grams and Trunk or Treat. It is hard to believe we are already beginning November, this year has flown by. We have many fun things planned for our JES community this month, so be sure to scroll through the entire newsletter for all information and flyers.
JES will be honoring Veterans on Friday, November 6th at our morning line up. All current and former military friends and family are invited. We want to celebrate you and thank you for serving our country! The PTA will be hosting a reception in the CAC immediately following line up.
As the Fall and Winter Holidays are approaching, we know that there will be a variety of opportunities for families to be on campus and volunteering in the classrooms. This is a reminder that all visitors, must bring their photo ID and be prepared to sign into our Raptor system prior to entering campus at all times. If you are interested in helping out with a particular classroom activity, you will need to follow the district volunteer process. Our clerk, Nancy, can help you with this. It can take some time to process, so please do not wait until the last minute to do this. Once you are an "approved volunteer," your child's teacher will reach out to schedule your time. We look forward to seeing you on campus!
If you have any further questions, you can always reach us at charman@tvusd.us
Sincerely,
Chrissy Harman

Donations Needed
TVUSD is proud to partner with the City of Temecula and MilVet, a national organization who supports deployed military families with care packages and other basic needs.
We need your help! Between now and October 30th, we will be collecting donations in the front office. Please refer to the attached flyer to learn what supplies are needed and appreciated.
We are holding a community competition with the City of Murrieta to collect the most supplies and donations! Help us bring Temecula the win, while sending support to service members protecting our country. All donations will be picked up and counted by MilVet, boxed and shipped to deployed military service members.
Thank you in advance for your support!
Attendance
“Stay Consistent Even During the Busy Season—Every Day Matters!”
Dear Parents and Guardians,
As we move into November and the start of the busy holiday season, we want to take a moment to emphasize the importance of consistent school attendance. Our November attendance focus—“Stay Consistent Even During the Busy Season—Every Day Matters”—reminds us that every school day counts toward your child’s learning, growth, and success.
Even a few missed days can make it harder for students to stay on track academically and socially. Attending school regularly helps students build strong routines, stay connected with classmates and teachers, and maintain momentum as we approach the end of the semester.
We understand this time of year can bring travel, family events, and other commitments. Whenever possible, please schedule trips and appointments outside of school days, and make sure your child attends every day unless they are sick.
Thank you for partnering with us to prioritize attendance and keep our students learning and thriving. Together, we can ensure that every day truly matters!
Warm regards,
Celebrations
Celebrating Our Students and the Holidays Safely & Healthily!
We love celebrating our amazing students and we have many fun holiday celebrations approaching! To support student health and keep everyone safe, all food and beverages for classroom parties and events must follow our school nutrition standards.
Many of our classrooms have students with severe allergies or medical conditions. When possible, we encourage non-food treats or celebrations!
If you do bring food or snacks, please ensure they meet these requirements:
Store-Bought Only: Items MUST be commercially prepared, pre-packaged, and in their original packaging with the nutrition label intact. Homemade treats are strictly not permitted.
Allergy Check: Always check with your child's teacher or the health office in advance to ensure items are safe for ALL students in the classroom.
Nutritional Standards: Keep all treats low in sugar, saturated fat, and sodium.
Please note: Any food items that do not meet these guidelines cannot be distributed to students and will be returned home to families.
Thank you for your cooperation and partnership in keeping our school healthy, safe, and ready to learn!

What's Happening with JES PTA
Calling All Young Entrepreneurs! Kids Maker Market!
Jackson Elementary PTA is excited to introduce our Kids Maker Market at this year's Winter Extravaganza!
Our talented Coyotes will have the opportunity to become young entrepreneurs by creating and selling their own handmade products to Jackson families! From jewelry and artwork to holiday ornaments and other creative crafts, we can't wait to see what our students create!
Interested in becoming a student vendor? Students must complete an application, including a photo of a sample product. Space is limited, and applications will be reviewed to ensure a fun variety of products. There is no cost to participate, and students keep all the money they earn! Please note that food and beverages may not be sold.
Apply here: https://forms.gle/m4ji33vQQtdif9af8
We can't wait to support our creative Coyotes and shop at their very own small businesses!
