I hope this summer newsletter finds Hubbardston Center School families doing well! The Cook family has been enjoying summer! Between All-Star baseball games, time at the beach, a trip to New Hampshire, and what seems like never-ending summer illnesses, it has been nice to relax a bit and not have so many alarms set!

Our new Office Manager, Mrs. Walker, has started at HCS this summer! She is excited to meet all of the children, and see the school in action! We are so fortunate to have her as part of our team!

With a new face in the main office, along with upgrades to our school's security, we are asking everyone to please be patient, as some things, such as dismissing a child, may take an extra minute. To ensure the safety of the children, Mrs. Walker will be asking for the person dismissing a child to present some form of identification until she gets to know parents and caregivers.

Be sure to say hello to Mrs. Walker when you are at HCS!

Students (and families) are invited to Popsicles with the Principal on Wednesday, August 21, from 5:30-6:30 pm, on the HCS playground. Mrs. Walker, PTO, and I will be there handing out pops to students. This is a great opportunity to meet the main office staff, have students reunite with friends, and to build on the excitement of the new school year! We are looking forward to this event!

Arrival and dismissal procedures will remain the same for the 2024-2025 school year. After working closely with the Hubbardston Police Department, and making adjustments throughout the school year, we will follow the same procedures that have been in place. Below are links to arrival/dismissal procedures for Walkers, Drop off, and Pick up.

Students may enter the building at 8:25 am, and dismissal begins at 3:05 pm.

*Wednesday, September 18--Early Release Day for Students, dismissal begins at 11:35 am
