Have You Noticed?

Thanks to all the teams putting together Distance Learning Packets III. We know this is not easy work, and you all are making thoughtful, careful decisions to best help our students get the most of this time away from school. We are so blessed to work with such a wonderful group of educators.

What's Buzzing What's Buzzing

For Your Information

1. Many of us discussed the possibility of doing a parade through our community last Friday after the parade we did for Mrs. Mitchell. Where we see the benefits a parade could bring to our students and to us, there are dangers that come from these parades as well. One danger explained is the parade brings out families and neighbors and they tend to crowd together to watch the parade and linger after the parade has passed through. In addition, some students want to run up to hug teachers they miss. For these reasons our Central Services has asked us not to do conduct parades. It was a good idea, but we can understand Central Services concerns as well.

2. Support Staff Evaluation:

Support Staff - Update to follow now that we will not be returning to school.

(including custodians, housekeepers, food service operators, instructional assistants,

secretaries, bookkeepers, etc.

It is time to begin thinking about how we will evaluate our support staff. Today, an email informed principals that we will NOT do these evaluations virtually. Human Resources has decided that is not the most effective way to convey the performance of our support staff. Moving forward: please begin to take notes on the form I will email to you. Keep those forms and IF we return to school, you will review the evaluation with your support staff person and sign-off together. IF YOU HAVE CONCERNS ABOUT THE PERFORMANCE OF YOUR SUPPORT STAFF PERSON AND AN IMPROVEMENT PLAN IS WARRANTED, PLEASE CONTACT ME IMMEDIATELY.

ALL SUPPORT STAFF: PLEASE USE THIS FORM TO DO A SELF EVALUATION. SELF REFLECTION IS A GREAT TOOL FOR PROFESSIONAL GROWTH. YOU MAY DISCUSS YOUR EVALUATION WITH THE EVALUATION OF YOUR EVALUATOR TO DISCUSS STRENGTHS AND AREAS OF GROWTH!

Counselors Corner

Dear Teachers,

WOW!!! This has been, to say the least, a crazy time! We are so glad to have been part of most of your zooms. We have sent out lessons and information for parents and students to let them know how to get in touch with us. We have also contacted some of our students that have been our regular kiddos. However, we need your help to identify students that you have concerns about, but been unable to get in touch with. We will send you a google form for those students. Also below, are some self-help tips and other information you may find useful! Especially, the last one. It is the best coping skill for this time I have found so far! Thank you, Mrs. Blizzard, for sharing! STAY HAPPY, HEALTHY, AND SAFE, Your School Counselors

PLEASE EMAIL YOUR SPECIFIC COUNSELOR IF THERE ARE STUDENTS THAT YOU HAVE HAVE SOCIAL/EMOTIONAL CONCERNS ABOUT BUT HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO GET IN CONTACT. ALSO, IF YOU ARE CONCERNED ABOUT THE CONTACT YOU HAVE HAD.

PLEASE INVITE US TO ZOOMS AND CLASS MEETINGS TO SAY HI OR IF YOU HAVE OTHER SPECIFIC NEEDS YOU WOULD LIKE US TO ADDRESS!
