PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE π
π Hello Bobcat Families,
I hope you all enjoyed that extra hour of sleep last night. I always love "falling back". ππ
We had a very busy week with lots of activities last week. We ended Red Ribbon Week dress up days on a very exciting note with our parade. Look at some of the fun pictures of our students and staff below.
Be sure to check out the important dates at the end of this newsletter, as we have many holidays/days off coming up.
May you all have a wonderful week!

CHESS CLUB
Chess club will be delayed by 1 week. The new start date will be 11/12. Chess club will be Tuesdays at 7:40. Ms. Mendoza will be capping enrollment at 40 students for Grades 1-5. Students need a signed permission slip to attend and should either eat breakfast beforehand, or get a grab and go breakfast from the cafeteria to eat at snack time.
Thank you to a very generous Bobcat Family for purchasing 20 chess sets to get this club started! You are amazing! π
P.E. NEWS β½
A Message from Coach E
Messi or Ronaldo?
We are deep into our soccer unit, and have just completed our dribbling assessments. Next up is passing and shooting! I am so proud of the work these student athletes are putting in. If you are hearing that your child is interested in playing soccer outside of school, please encourage them! I am available to find a team or tryout for them, if needed!
LIBRARY NEWS π
A Message from Ms. Luft
Reading at home is so important. It is an extension of the learning day. Your students are encouraged to bring their library books home to enjoy. You can help them practice being R-Responsible and Ready to Learn by reminding them to bring their library books back to school every day. We are working toward school-wide goals of having 100% library book turn-in each week. Special rewards are up for grabs!
FAMILY NEWS πͺ
A Message from Family Liaison Ms. Laura
Come visit our Felicita Family Engagement Center! It is the place in our school that provides a space for parents. Here are some key points of a Family Engagement Center:
-Focus on family involvement: encourages parents to engage in their child's education by providing various avenues like workshops, meetings and volunteering.
-Community resource hub: often act as a central point where families can access information about community services, support programs, and other relevant resources.
-Capacity building: empowers families by providing training and education on effective parenting practices to best support their childβs learning.
-Even if it is to chill and have a cup of coffee, come and visit!
ATTENDANCE MATTERS β
Help us reach our attendance goal of 94% average daily attendance!
Regular student attendance plays a critical role in our collective mission to ensure every student achieves their fullest potential.
Why Attendance Should Be a Top Priority:
Academic Achievement: Regular attendance is fundamental to student success. Each school day is a building block in the learning process. Consistent attendance helps students keep up with coursework, understand key concepts, and perform better academically.
Social and Emotional Development: School is a place where students develop crucial social skills and emotional resilience. Frequent absences can hinder their ability to form strong relationships with peers and teachers, impacting their overall development.
Future Opportunities: Consistent attendance is linked to higher graduation rates and better long-term outcomes, including higher education and career prospects. By prioritizing attendance, we are directly contributing to students' future success.
School Culture: Regular attendance fosters a positive school culture and enhances the learning environment for everyone. It creates a sense of community and ensures that all students have equal access to the resources and support they need.
Congrats to all the attendance winners with the highest attendance last week!
