Multifactor Authentication: 7th Graders
As a 7th grader and student new to our school, all students are required to use Multifactor Authentication (MFA) when logging into their district accounts while off campus starting September 15th, 2025. Student accounts are at high risk for password stealing and guessing attacks by professional cyber criminals, and MFA offers protection that can prevent most of these attacks. Many employers, colleges, and universities now require MFA to protect user accounts.
In order to support this process, students will work with district technicians during the 7th Grade Orientation on August 29, 2025. Students who have access to cell phones SHOULD bring them to their 7th Grade Social Studies class. If students do not have cell phones, they can request a security token. See directions below for requesting a token.
This sign-in process requires students to enter their username, password, and a code generated from a smartphone app or security token to log into their Chromebooks or district accounts while off campus. Codes are not needed when at school.
To prepare for this change, please note the following:
There are two MFA methods available to students. Parents and students should decide which method to use by September 15th, 2025.
- Use the free Microsoft Authenticator app on the student's phone, iPad, or other device. (Recommended). The app's advantages include its convenience on the phone, no cost, and ease of use and setup. More than 90% of students use the app for their MFA option. All UW campuses use this app for MFA, and our students can continue the process if they attend a UW campus.
- Students must perform the setup at their school using these instructions.
- Help desk staff are available to assist with MFA Monday-Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
- Please note: If you are going to use this option and you have parental controls on your student’s phone you will need to enable the download and installation of this App.
- Use a Security Token. This is a small device that generates a code. We provide this option to support families that make the choice not to provide their students with access to a smartphone. The District would provide one token per student upon request. The token requires 10-15 minutes to set up, and students must register to receive one. The disadvantage is the replacement cost of around $20 for lost or missing tokens.
- Students may request one by submitting a Technology Support Ticket.
- The Technology Services department will order, configure, and issue student tokens in September.
- Requests typically take one week to process
Please consult our Student Support Guide for more information or contact Technology Services at 715-345-5511.
Online Registration
Primary parents or guardians may complete back-to-school forms online through Skyward Family Access for the 2026-2027 school year.
Forms such as the Student Participation Agreement and the Out-of-State/Overnight Field Trip Code of Conduct Agreement are required to be signed for all students to ensure you are aware of the policies, but they do not enroll your child in any activities.
You can still pay school fees or submit a fee waiver in person at Back to School Night. For more information and directions on how to complete the online forms, please reference this resource.
**If you are unable to complete the forms online, paper copies are still available. Please call the main office for assistance at 715-345-5422.
Payment of Student Fees
Parents/guardians are encouraged to make payment of school fees through Skyward Family Access. Parents will need their personal “parent” login and password. Using your student’s login and password will not give you access to the payment screen.
Please use a computer to complete these transactions. Payments will post immediately. MasterCard or Visa (debit or credit card) are accepted. A $1 handling fee is charged to cover processing costs. Student fee payments can also be submitted at Back to School Night or in the PJJ main office.
If your family is experiencing financial hardship, or qualify for free or reduced lunch, please complete a fee waiver form. These forms must be completed each year. They will be available at Back to School Night as well as in the PJJ main office.
Student Class Schedules
Junior High School Student schedules will be released in Skyward Family/Student Access on Friday, August 21st at 4:00 PM. Information regarding schedules in Skyward prior to this date and time is likely inaccurate and not finalized.
Parents needing help accessing Skyward may click here for more information. The window to request a schedule change for Semester 1 will close Thursday, August 27th at 4:00 PM.
Students interested in changing their schedule must complete a paper form and submit it to the Student Services office. The link to the paper form will be active starting Friday, August 21st and will be emailed to students/families at that time. School counselors will accept emailed pdfs or pictures of the completed paper form.
Schedule change requests may only be considered for students with:
1) ECCP class to fit into schedule (9th grade only)
2) Class failure/credit recovery (9th grade only)
3) A college requirement needed for acceptance
4) A graduation requirement to be met (9th grade only)
5) An online class approved
6) A course level change at semester (examples: English 7 to Advanced English 7 or AP
Government to Civics).
The following reasons are NOT acceptable reasons to change your schedule:
- To have a teacher change
- To be placed in a class with your friend
- To rearrange your schedule to your liking
- If the request imbalances class sizes (regardless of open seats)
No email or phone call requests regarding schedule changes will be accepted. You must complete the paper form.
Please note, schedule changes are based on the academic needs of students, class availability, and require written parent/guardian permission.
Waivers of this policy require principal approval and will be based on exceptional circumstances.
