Lakeville South Girls' Track & Field - Hamline "Elite" Meet

Thirteen years ago Lakeville South’s Rose Cozad, Caraline Slattery, Shaina Burns, and Kayt Larson ran 4:00.08 to win the 4x400 at the Hamline Elite Meet. Friday night, our team of Lidia Castro, Lucy Hilliard, Avery Sandmann, and Eva Welsch (along with alternate Stella Boroff) ran even faster, 3:59.73, and it was only good enough for seventh place…the competition was impressive in all of the events! The team’s time earned them the 15th fastest time in school history.

Relay runner Eva Welsch was also busy at the beginning of the meet. She got things started with a 5-2 high jump to place 4th in the competition. She followed that with an impressive race in the 100 hurdles. Eva ran 14.88 seconds and claimed the crown as 2025 Hamline Elite Meet Girls 100 Meter Hurdles Champion. She joins the 2012 4x400 team mentioned above and Shaina Burns (a four-time individual winner) as the only Lakeville South Hamline Elite Meet Champions.
