Celebrating Student-Led Conferences!
Thank you to all of our families who participated in Student-Led Conferences! At Bay Harbor, we believe that leadership begins with giving students opportunities to take ownership of their learning. These conferences are a special opportunity for students to step into the role of leader by sharing their academic grows and glows, reflecting on their progress, and highlighting how they are developing the characteristics of the HSSD Graduate Profile. Through their portfolios, students learn to recognize their strengths, identify areas for growth, and take pride in their progress. While we are proud to be the only school in HSSD offering this experience, what matters most is the impact it has on our students. When students can articulate what they are learning, where they are growing, and what they want to accomplish next, they are building the confidence, reflection skills, and sense of responsibility that will serve them well beyond elementary school. Our goal is not just to help students become successful learners, but to empower them to become leaders of their own learning!

💚 The Giving Tree 💚
October Updates
The Giving Tree will be starting to register families for our December Holiday Store. Please reach out to your school social worker if you think your student may benefit from assistance with The Giving Tree. For our generous community, look for information in future district communications about donating to our Holiday Store and volunteering!
This month we are collecting canned soup. Please feel free to send donations with your students to put in the collections bins/carts near the main office of school. Items can also be dropped off during school hours. The Giving Tree appreciates the community support in helping ensure food is not a barrier to a student’s education.
