Falcon Update
Heritage Middle School-Week of May 4th
Letter from the Principal
Dear HMS Families,
This past week, we welcomed author Nancy Goodfellow, who wrote Special. She shared her experience as a writer and spoke about the importance of inclusion. We also successfully completed our evacuation drill on Friday. In addition, students who earned the attendance incentive enjoyed an ice cream social.
Teacher/Staff Appreciation Week is coming up, and we’re excited to celebrate our incredible team with a 90s-themed week because the Heritage staff is totally rad! As part of the celebration, we will be hosting a staff raffle on Thursday, May 7th. We are currently in need of donations for raffle prizes. If you would like to contribute, please drop off your donation in the main office by May 6th.
Suggested items include gift cards, pre-packaged snacks, self-care items, or other fun surprises. The more prizes we have, the more opportunities our staff will have to win! Thank you for taking the time to help us show appreciation for the amazing Heritage staff.
This upcoming week students will be taking their Spring NWEWA MAP Test. We can't wait to see how well students do.
We would like to wish all of the Heritage students luck in the musical Matilda Jr. They will be performing Friday, May 8th at 7:00 and Saturday, May 9th at 1:30 PM and 5:30 PM. If you have not yet purchased your tickets you can do that here.
Registration for the 2026–2027 school year is now open, and we encourage families to begin the process as soon as possible. Please review the flyer below for required registration documents and visit our registration website to begin the process.
Thank you,
Michelle Hauer

Heritage Spirt Wear
Purchase Friday spirit wear by using the link below.
PBIS Rewards
We utilize an app called PBIS Rewards where students earn points throughout the school year for being Responsible, Respectful and Safe. We have a PBIS store that we open for students to purchase fun items with their points. We also do raffles, field trips and a winter extravaganza that students can utilize their points throughout the year. We encourage students to use their points by the end of the year as they do not roll over!
StopIt
This week, students will download STOPit to their iPads. This is an online application that Heritage students have access to. This application allows students to anonymously report incidents of bullying, misconduct or general concerns. All reports go to the support service team and administration, which allows us to act quickly and in real time to any concerns or incidents.
Breakfast & Lunch
Students at Heritage receive free breakfast and lunch each day if they choose to participate, or they may bring their own lunch from home. As a healthy school, we ask that students do not bring pop, energy drinks, or large bags of snacks.
Breakfast will be served each morning before students head to their Period 1 class. Lunch will take place at the scheduled time according to the bell schedule, and students will also have the option to participate in recess during their lunchtime.
Below will be where you can find the menus for Heritage through OrganicLife.
