Parent-Teacher Conferences

Parent-Teacher conferences are Thursday, February 16, and Thursday, February 23, from 3:30 to 7 p.m. Your student brought home a slip from their teacher with the conference day and time. Please make sure you see it, confirm that the day and time works for you, or not, and return it to their teacher.

Parent-Teacher conferences are an important part of your student’s successful education. Please make sure you make time to meet with their teacher!

From our School Nurse

February is National Dental Health Month. Drs. Jeremy and Jaime Hill from Hill Dentistry volunteered to visit our school February 6 to perform dental screenings for all grades. This is a free, voluntary service; they will take a quick look in your student's mouth - no treatments will be performed. A card will be sent home with the screening results. If you prefer your student does not participate in this screening, or if you have any questions please call me.

3rd Grade Swimming Lessons

Free swimming lessons are being offered by the Rec Center to 3rd graders February 13 through February 23, except February 16 and February 20; March 6 through March 16, Mondays through Thursdays, unless otherwise noted. Class sizes are limited to 12 students per class. Due to class sizes and to maximize the time allowed for teaching swim classes, there are two different time slots; 3:40 to 4:10 p.m. and 4:15-4:45 p.m. Once both lessons are complete all children still in the pool will be directed to the locker rooms to change.

Rec Center registration forms and information about the swimming lessons are being sent home this week, information about the lessons are also on the Sunset website at https://5il.co/1gta1. Completed registration forms need to be returned to the Rec Center. A bus will transport students from Sunset School to the Rec Center, parents will pick up their student after the lesson. Parents must pick their student up at the Rec Center NO LATER than 5:00 p.m.

Make sure your student leaves home with their swimming clothes and a towel!

Visitor Management System

Thank you parents, volunteers, visitors and guests who checked into Park 6's visitor sign-in program. We appreciate everyone's cooperation in using the system. The pin number on the visitor's badge is unique to each visitor and using it streamlines the process of entering the building. People remember their pin number various ways, some keep the visitor badge in their wallet for reference and some take a photo of the badge with their smartphone. Either way it is important to have your number with you for entering the building. Thank you again for your cooperation!
