ACCESS Testing
Parents, ACCESS testing has begun for our Multilingual Learners this year. This test meets U.S. federal requirements of the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) for monitoring and reporting MLs’ progress toward English language proficiency. We take this test each year to measure improvements in reading, listening, speaking and writing in English. Please make sure your child comes to school well rested and with a charged Chromebook.

Tri-County Tech Dual Enrollment Info Night
Parents/guardians and their students interested in dual enrollment for next school year (including Summer or Fall 2026 terms) are encouraged to attend. This checks a box for dual enrollment onboarding too (attending an orientation), and will provide info on Tri-County policies including grading, attendance, enrollment process, etc. Majority of those interested will likely be current juniors (maybe some current sophomores) and their parents/guardians, but also includes information on newer TCTC programs for rising sophomores (current freshmen).
Tri-County "Flex Week"
Tri-County will be at EHS during Flex Time to share info with students about Dual Enrollment! Each day, Tri-County will present a different topic/type of Dual Enrollment - Technical Pathways (welding, mechatronics, etc.), University Transfer courses, Expressway to Tiger Town, etc. Space is limited on a first come, first served basis. Students should sign up in Flex Manager for the day(s) with topics that interest them; review each day’s description in Flex Manager. Sign-up’s open Monday 2/16. Topics will mostly be for current juniors and some sophomores, but they may also present topics for current freshmen too on newer Dual Enrollment programs aimed at next year's sophomores.

Attendance
What should I include in my notes for abences?
A valid excuse must:
-include the date,
-list the student's full name,
-contain the date(s) of the absence(s),
-list the reason for the absence(s),
-list a telephone number of the parent (if needed for verification), and
-include the signature of the parent/guardian or a licensed/certified health practitioner.
If you attend a college visit during a school day please remember to get a note from the college. If you turn this note it is not considered an absence. Notes must have the child's name, date of visit, and be on letterhead or an official email from the school with the same information.
**Unexcused absences can result in Seat Time. This information will be coming soon.**
Car Line Reminder
Please pull all the way forward in the car line to ensure more cars are able load and unload with students so that the line does not get backed up. Thanks for your help!

EHS General Information
Character FIRST
At Easley High School, we believe strong character is the foundation for student success. That’s why we’re launching Character FIRST, a schoolwide behavioral MTSS framework that helps us create a shared language, consistent expectations, and a positive culture for all students. By emphasizing Focus, Integrity, Resilience, Support, and Timeliness, we’re building the character skills that support learning, relationships, and lifelong success—because at EHS, Character FIRST, then Scholarship.
Cell Phone Policy
Under a new South Carolina policy, schools are required to limit students' access to cell phones and other personal devices during the school day. The School District of Pickens County (SDPC) has adopted a revised Personal Electronic Device Policy to comply with state law (Budget Proviso 1.103).
What You Need to Know:
- Devices during the school day: Must remain silenced and stored during instructional time.
- Devices include, but are not limited to: cell phones, smart watches, tablets, and gaming devices.
- Permitted exceptions: Approved instructional uses, medical needs, or emergency situations with prior written approval.
We encourage parents to discuss this policy with their children and support its implementation. If you have any questions, please contact your school’s administration or refer to the full policy on our website at [www.pickens.k12.sc.us/page/sdpc-cell-phone-policy].
For more information, please visit the Free to Focus page on the South Carolina Department of Education’s website or review the SDPC policy.
Thank you for partnering with us to create a safe and focused learning environment as we implement this required policy.
Pick Up and Drop Off Reminders
Students are not to be dropped off before school or picked up after school at the front of the building or at all in the student parking lot. Please utilize the car loop before and after school. Thank you for helping us keep our students safe as they enter and exit our building.
Student Parking
In order for students to park at EHS, they must first complete either Alive at 25 or Arrive Alive. After completion, they need to purchase a parking pass on MySchoolBucks. We will give out parking tickets to anyone who parks on campus without a pass.
Students are not allowed to loiter in the parking lot and are not allowed to leave for lunch.
