LPES Virtual Backpack #4
September 4, 2026
From the Principal's Desk
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Just a friendly reminder that there will be no school on Monday, September 7th. We hope everyone enjoys the long weekend and has a chance to rest and recharge!
This week, we are focusing on Habit 3: Put First Things First! This means taking care of the most important things before the less important things.
Our challenge this week: Get your important work done first, then make time for fun! We encourage you to practice this habit at home by helping your child prioritize homework, responsibilities, and routines before moving on to play or screen time.
We are so excited to continue seeing all of our leaders grow, make positive choices, and be great role models for one another!
As the weather begins to change, please make sure your child is dressed appropriately for the weather each day. We make every effort to get outside daily when conditions allow, so having layers, a jacket, and appropriate shoes can help ensure everyone is comfortable and ready to participate.
Finally, we want to highlight the importance of regular sleep and healthy bedtime routines. Getting enough sleep helps children come to school ready to learn, focus, and participate. A consistent bedtime, calming nighttime routine, and limiting screens before bed can all help children get the rest they need. Establishing good sleep habits is another wonderful way to practice Putting First Things First—taking care of our bodies and preparing for a successful day at school!
Thank you for your continued partnership and support. We appreciate everything you do at home to help our students grow into responsible, confident, and successful leaders.
Have a wonderful long weekend!
Warmly,
Emily Varghese

When their potato is 100% full, the class will earn another celebration and be crowned the “Present Potato” of the week!
