Report Card Updates
REPORT CARDS WILL BE AVAILABLE MONDAY, NOVEMBER 10th
The elementary report card will provide a quarterly overall update on your child’s progress. Throughout the quarter, your child’s teacher will continue to communicate specific information about your child’s growth in relation to the standards and units they are learning.
In addition to the grades your child has earned, the report card comment will help clarify aspects of the report card and document key considerations. They will also direct parents to ParentVUE for school, district, and state assessment results.
We look forward to partnering with you as we celebrate your child’s successes and work together to support their continued growth.
Ashburn & Dulles North Elementary School Attendance Zone Change Process
This fall, LCPS is reviewing the attendance boundaries for 18 elementary schools in the Ashburn and Dulles North area – including Steuart Weller. A dedicated webpage (www.lcps.org/2025ESBoundaries) has been established and will provide all data and information as it is shared with the School Board; there is also a direct link to this webpage from our school’s homepage, look for the ‘Fall 2025 ES BOUNDARY PROCESS’ link.
Adopted attendance zone changes will take effect in the fall, with the start of the 2026-2027 school year.
This review process is designed to ensure our schools are well-balanced, neither overcrowded nor under-utilized, so every student has access to the resources and opportunities they need. The process is guided by Policy 6530, which requires that all school attendance zones be reviewed every five years.
The School Board has scheduled a series of meetings to facilitate the review of this attendance zone process. Three attendance zone public hearings have been scheduled on November 5, November 24 and December 8. All meetings will begin at 6:30 p.m. and be held at the LCPS Administration Building (21000 Education Court, Ashburn). These meetings will also be broadcast live on Comcast channel 18 or 1070 (HD) and Verizon Fios channel 43 as well as streamed via simultaneous webcast on the LCPS website.
Families and community members are encouraged to stay informed and participate in the conversation. As the School Board considers plans, including others besides the two staff plans (Staff Plan R11 and Staff Plan R17) presented on October 28, they will be posted on the www.lcps.org/2025ESBoundaries page – and may propose alternate changes specifically for Steuart W. Weller's current attendance zone.
Written comments and questions can be sent to the LCPS Planning & GIS Services office at lcpsplan@lcps.org; all received correspondence will be shared with the School Board.

Supporting Social Emotional Growth at Home
Here are questions you can ask your children about what will be presented this week in their daily SEL lessons
K: Encourage your child to notice when others around them feel happy. Have them practice using body language and context clues to figure out when family members, friends, or characters in books, movies, or on TV might be feeling happy.
1: Ask your child to tell you how they think others around them might be feeling, for example a sibling, or a character in a story, a movie, or a TV show.
2: Ask your child to tell you about a time they felt proud. Tell them about a time you felt proud of something you accomplished or of doing something nice for others.
3: Ask your child what information the emotions fear, sadness, and happiness give us.
4: Tell your child about a time when a strong emotion made it hard for you to learn something new or caused you to say or do something that hurt someone’s feelings. Discuss why it’s important to learn to manage strong emotions.
5: Tell your child about a recurring situation in your life that typically causes you to feel a strong emotion, like anger or frustration. Ask your child to tell you about similar situations in their life.
