Dear YCIS-SV Community,

We are thrilled to welcome you back to another exciting school year! As we embark on this new chapter together, we are filled with anticipation for the many wonderful things to come.

This year marks a significant milestone for YCIS-SV as we introduce several exciting changes to enhance our students’ learning experience:

- We are delighted to announce the renaming of our preschool campus to the Early Childhood Education (ECE) campus, which will also house our Transitional Kindergarten (TK) program. This program will lay a strong academic and social foundation, preparing them for a successful transition to elementary school.

- Additionally, we are excited to share that our fifth-grade students will now be integrated into our Middle School program. This change will allow our fifth graders to benefit from the specialized curriculum, resources, and support offered at the Middle School level.

- Based on valuable feedback from our community and careful reflection, we have adjusted the class schedule for our K-8 campus to an eight-period day. This new structure will optimize instructional time, with classes starting promptly at 8:15 AM. We believe this change will create a more focused and productive learning environment for our students.

- To further enrich our students’ academic journey, we have adopted Dimension Singapore Math as our new math curriculum. This world-renowned program is designed to challenge and inspire young minds, fostering a deeper understanding of mathematical concepts.

We’re excited to share more details about our academic plans for the year at our Back-to-School Night in September. Before then, let’s reconnect and build excitement for the upcoming school year at our Ice Cream Social on Monday, August 12th. We can't wait to see you there! Welcome 2024-2025 school year!

Welcome back to school, YCIS ECE Campus Families! We are thrilled to kick off another exciting year filled with learning, growth, and fun. Our dedicated teachers and teams have been working tirelessly over the last week to create inspiring and engaging classrooms. They have decorated vibrant learning spaces and have poured their hearts into preparing for your children's arrival. We can't wait to see the joy on your children's faces as they explore their new classrooms and embark on this new chapter of their educational journey. We are excited for this year and look forward to seeing you very soon!

Please join us for our Open House at the ECE Campus on Monday, August 12th. Feel free to drop by anytime between 9:30-11:30am to meet your teachers in person and see your new classroom for the year. We also invite you to join us later Monday afternoon from 3-4:30 at the K-8 Campus (310 Easy St.) for our annual Ice Cream Social. Come grab a tasty treat and join the YCIS community in celebrating the start of the school year. Hope to see you there.

Our K-8 staff is excited and fully prepared to welcome you back to school! In preparation for this new school year, we've dedicated countless hours to enhancing our teaching practices through intensive training in improving teacher and student communication and fostering a growth mindset. Our collaboration with Responsive Classroom and Mind Align Family Therapy has equipped us with valuable tools and strategies. Professional development is a cornerstone of our commitment to excellence at YCIS. We are dedicated to continuous growth and improvement as educators to provide the best possible learning experience for our students. Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year!

🍦 Monday, August 12th Ice Cream Social (whole school event - all families), 3:00-4:30pm on the K-8 Campus at 310 Easy Street, Mountain View 94043. All YCIS families are invited to enjoy a sweet treat with YCIS teachers and other families before school begins.
