A Message from Superintendent Mr. Rose
Dear Wilson Families,
This past month has truly been one for the books. As we near the end of the school year, I find myself reflecting with deep gratitude on the incredible work happening across our district each and every day.
With Teacher Appreciation Week upon us, I want to take a moment to recognize the heart of our schools—our educators and staff. When people ask me what makes Wilson special, my first answer is always our students. But right alongside them are the dedicated educators and staff who show up every day committed to making a difference. Their impact goes far beyond academics. They create safe spaces, inspire confidence, and build relationships that shape the lives of our students in lasting ways. We are incredibly fortunate to have a team that consistently goes above and beyond.
I would also like to recognize Principal Maki Wojcicki for being named a finalist for the School Connect Catalyst for Education Award. This honor reflects the leadership, collaboration, and care she brings to her school community, and we are proud to celebrate her.
As we look ahead, we have an exciting and meaningful month before us. From preschool and kindergarten promotions to our 8th grade farewells, these moments remind us of the growth, accomplishments, and milestones our students have reached this year.
As we look ahead into summer,, we are pleased to offer the SUN Meals and SUN Bucks programs. These programs provide free nutritious meals for children eighteen and younger and one hundred and twenty dollars in food benefits for eligible school-aged children. Please be sure to look at the provided flyer for more information on how to access these healthy summer options. We look forward to celebrating all that is still to come as we close out the year together.
Thank you to our families, staff, and community for an incredible school year. It has been an honor to serve you.
With appreciation,
Mr. Rose
Superintendent
Wilson Elementary School District
Mr. Rose Named Administrator of the Year
We are proud to celebrate a very special moment for our district as Superintendent Mr. Rose was named Administrator of the Year by the Arizona Professional Educators (AZPE). He was surprised with this honor at Wilson Primary School, surrounded by students and staff—making the recognition even more meaningful.
Mr. Rose was selected for his commitment to redefining what it means to serve a school community. His leadership goes beyond academics, focusing on supporting the whole child and their families. This recognition reflects the impact he continues to make across our district, and we are incredibly proud to celebrate this well-deserved honor.
Teaching From The Heart ... Thank You, Teachers!
This week, we proudly celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week and the incredible educators who make a difference in the lives of our students every day. Their passion, dedication, and commitment to student success are at the heart of everything we do.
Our teachers go far beyond delivering lessons—they inspire, encourage, and support students in ways that shape their confidence and future. We are deeply grateful for their unwavering dedication and the impact they make across our district.
A Culture Of Connection
We are proud to celebrate Maki Wojcicki for being named a recipient of the School Connect Award in the principal category. This recognition highlights the meaningful ways connection shows up across campus, from thoughtful conversations to the opportunities that bring people together. We see how relationships are prioritized and how that creates a welcoming, positive space for students and families.
We appreciate the energy and intention that go into making each person feel seen and included. This honor reflects a commitment to building a school community where people feel comfortable, supported and part of something special. We are grateful to celebrate this recognition and the impact it brings to our schools.
Career Day Inspires Future Pathways
Our elementary students had an incredible experience during Career Day this past Friday. Community leaders from a variety of industries visited our campus to share their experiences, offering students a glimpse into different career pathways and possibilities for their future.
Students had the opportunity to listen, ask questions, and engage directly with professionals, making the experience both interactive and inspiring. Events like Career Day help students begin to envision their future and understand the many opportunities that lie ahead.
One In A Million Teacher Award
We are so excited to celebrate Ms. Womack for receiving the One In A Million Teacher Award. This recognition shines a light on the care, creativity, and dedication she brings into her classroom each day. We see how she builds strong connections with students, making learning feel engaging, supportive and full of encouragement. The impact she has goes far beyond lessons, helping students feel confident and valued.
We are grateful for the way Ms. Womack shows up for her students with patience, energy and heart. Her classroom is a place where curiosity is welcomed and every student is encouraged to grow in their own way. This award is a beautiful reflection of the difference she makes, and we are proud to celebrate her as part of our school community.
The Wheels On The Bus Go Round & Round ... Because of Them
On April 28, we proudly recognized our incredible bus drivers for Bus Driver Appreciation Day. Each day, they play an essential role in ensuring our students arrive to and from school safely, creating a positive start and end to every school day.
Our drivers are often the first smile our students see in the morning and the last goodbye in the afternoon. Their dedication, care, and commitment do not go unnoticed. We are grateful for all they do to support our students and families each and every day.
Principals, At The Heart Of It All
On May 1, we celebrated Principal Appreciation Day by recognizing the outstanding leadership of our principal, Mrs. Wojcicki. Her dedication, vision, and commitment to creating strong school communities make a lasting impact on both students and staff.
From supporting teachers to building meaningful relationships with families, our principal goes above and beyond to ensure every student has the opportunity to succeed. We are thankful for her leadership and the positive culture she creates on our campuses.
Serving Up Smiles Daily
Also on May 1, we celebrated our School Lunch Heroes—the incredible individuals who work behind the scenes to ensure our students are nourished and ready to learn each day.
Their hard work, care, and attention to detail play a vital role in our schools. Beyond preparing meals, they create welcoming environments and connect with students in meaningful ways. We are grateful for their dedication and the important role they play in supporting our Wildcats.
A Season To Remember
We are so proud of our girls softball team for an incredible season that ended with a hard fought championship game. While the final score did not go our way, this group finished in second place in the conference, marking their best finish since 2005! That is something truly special, and it reflects the hard work, growth and commitment we saw from them all season long. We watched them compete with heart, lift each other up and represent our school with pride every step of the way.
We are grateful for the way these students showed what it means to play the Wilson Way. They stayed focused, supported one another and gave their very best from the first game to the last. This season is one they can feel proud of, not just for what they achieved, but for how they achieved it together. We are honored to celebrate their journey they created as a team and as a family.
