SFiAM Jaguar Updates
August 1, 2022
Hello Families!
Hooray!! The first day of school is almost here! We are so excited to see our students and cannot wait to hear their voices and laughter in our classrooms. We are looking forward to a year filled with wonderful learning experiences and building strong connections with our students and families.
If you did not receive the welcome back letter that I sent out, here are the links to the original. However, some information has changed. English or Spanish
Below is important information that you need to know before school begins.
Start time - School starts at 8:00 am. Front gates will open at 7:30 am. Students may be dropped off as early as 6:30 am if they sign up with our Ready, Set, Go program that meets in room B1. See us for details. Breakfast will be served from 7:30 am to 7:55 am.
First day of school-August 15th - On the first day of school, please plan to arrive early and leave yourself plenty of time to navigate the traffic in front of the school. Students must be in complete uniform (baby blue polo shirt and navy blue pants/shorts/skirt-NO JEANS).
Dismissal - School is dismissed at 3:09 on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Dismissal is at 1:57 pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays. We again encourage you to be early if you plan on parking and waiting for your child outside of school. Please do not pull into the staff parking lots. Please remind students who are walking home to be mindful of traffic while crossing streets and of strangers. We encourage students to walk in groups.
Chromebooks - Your child will receive a Chromebook to use in the classroom. If your child needs a Chromebook to use at home, please request one from the District by clicking here. We will no longer be providing Chromebooks for the students to take home.
COVID-19 Protocols- Students should continue to monitor for symptoms and stay home if they are not feeling well. As students enter campus, they will be asked health screening questions. The Dailypass is no longer required. There will no longer be weekly PCR testing. Students who are symptomatic will be given a rapid antigen test. Those who test positive will need to quarantine and test again with a rapid antigen after Day 5 and be negative before returning.
Masks-The use of masks is recommended, but not required.
COVID-19 Vaccines-The District recommends that all eligible students be vaccinated and boosted, but it is not a requirement at this time.
Water bottles - It is extremely important that your child brings a water bottle to school DAILY. This will ensure they stay hydrated throughout the day.
Lunch and Breakfast - Both meals are free to all students. Students just need to go to the cafeteria during the designated times to pick up their meals.
