Bulldog Bulletin
1.12.2024
Dear Sarah Adams Families,
It's been awhile since we've had a full week of school, but it was so great being together! In my visits to classrooms this week, I saw impressive examples of student engagement and high levels of participation. Students enjoyed explaining their math thinking with peers, working independently to demonstrate their ideas through writing, and I saw lots of collaboration with friends.
While we had a few days of indoor recess due to the weather, students still showed respectful and safe behavior, by finding ways to positively interact with peers in their class, and including others when they could. Students have been earning stamps and tallies, and I have already heard of a few classrooms who have already earned whole class celebrations! Our Bulldogs are doing an excellent job showing respectful, responsible, safe and kind behaviors!
Enjoy the afternoon,
Ms. Colleen Conway
Drop off and Pick Up Reminders
In order to ensure the safety of our students, staff members and families, I'd like to share a few important reminder with arrivals and dismissal:
- At morning drop-off and after school pick-up, please pull all the way up to the front of the line. We are able to unload/fill up 10-12 cars at a time if every car can follow this procedure, which expedites the process.
- Please have your child(ren) unload if you are in the drop-off zone, even if they are not in front of their designated school door.
- Please do not get out of your car if you are in the pick-up line. Students should be able to exit and enter the car on their own, getting in and out on the passenger side to avoid traffic.
- If you need to get out of your car, please park in an open, unmarked parking spot. If there is none available, you may use the back parking lot.
Following these guidelines not only ensures the safety of our community, but it also helps to expedite our procedures. As a reminder, school starts promptly at 8:15 am. You may begin dropping students off at 7:55, they will then be let into the building at 8:05. To avoid tardiness, please have your child(ren) at school before 8:15; this also ensures they are not missing any instruction at the start of the day.

Safety Survey
Part of our building SEL goal is to increase the number of students reporting they feel safe from 70% to 75% as measured on the 2024 5Essentials Survey. As a way to measure how we are in reaching our goal, we will be administering a safety survey to students next week. Questions are:
-How safe do you feel in the hallways of Sarah Adams? How safe do you feel in the bathrooms of Sarah Adams? How safe do you feel outside and around Sarah Adams? How safe do you feel traveling to/from Sarah Adams? How safe do you feel in your classroom?
Teachers will be administering this short survey to students next week.
