Bear Paw Store Update...
At our last Bear Paw Store, some BCE Bears used their hard earned Bear Paws to sign up for Round Table pizza with a friend at lunch today and to play basketball vs. Mrs. Fippin and Mrs. Long! We'll highlight more fun experiences that students earned in next week's newsletter!
BCE community celebrating Veteran's Day!
Big thanks to our Parents Club for helping BCE Bears show their gratitude this month by making cards for Veterans. They made over 100 cards to show their appreciation!
Drumming Celebration in November
On November 18th, we will celebrate the end of our drumming classes with performances during the school day. You are welcome to come to the performance that your student is participating in. Please honor this so that we have space for families to see their student perform. BIG thank you to Ibou for teaching our BCE Bears and thank you to our amazing Parents Club for supporting this great opportunity.
Winter Music Celebration in December! Mark your calendars!

Hot Cocoa Breathing!
Imagine holding a warm mug of hot chocolate. First, take a slow, deep breath in through your nose as you smell the delicious cocoa. Then, gently breathe out through your mouth as if you're blowing across the surface to cool it down. Repeat a few times, taking slow, gentle breaths. This simple exercise helps calm our bodies, slow down our breathing, and give our brains a little reset. It works like a charm! Try it together at home the next time your child feels worried, frustrated, or just needs a cozy moment!
Big Thank You from the Parents Club
Thank you to all the amazing students, teachers, and staff who stopped by today to create heartfelt cards for our veterans!
Every card, drawing, and kind message is a small but meaningful way to show our appreciation to the brave men and women who have served our country.
Teaching our children the importance of kindness, gratitude, and giving back to our community is what makes projects like this so special!
Small hands, big hearts, and a whole lot of gratitude!

Winter Break
Our school is making sure we are prepped and ready for the potentially rough upcoming storm season. This is a good time to remind our families that Winter Break does not start until Monday, December 21st.
Friday, December 18th is a built in Storm Day. If we have a school day canceled between now and December 17th, then the 18th becomes a school day.
We are excited to invite our students, families, staff, and community to the SLVHS Fall Festival on Friday, October 30th, from 4:00โ7:00 PM at the SLVHS campus!
The Fall Festival will be a fun community event featuring booths hosted by SLVHS clubs and grade-level classes, with food, games, activities, arts & crafts, music, and more!
This is also a great fundraiser for our students. All money raised at the festival will go directly to SLVHS clubs and classes, so coming out and participating is a fun way to support our students and their programs.

Don't Forget the Rules for Drop off and Pick up
Drop Off and Pick Up
We have had several issues the past couple of weeks at both drop off and pick up. Please know that all of us out at the cross walk are only trying to keep our students and families safe. I wanted to remind everyone to please first be Kind and Patient. Here are a few reminders about pick up and drop off
- You can drop off on either side of Laurel Street.
- You can NOT drop off coming up on Lomond street.
- You can only leave your car in designated parking spots on Laurel street.
- Make sure you are not parking in front of our neighbors drive ways
- On Lomond Street, you need to park in the right direction. Buses are not able to get through when cars are away from the side and parked in the wrong direction.
- When walking down Lomond Street please use the sidewalk. We have had a few close calls with kids and parents walking in the center of the street.
Thank you everyone for helping ensure safety of all of our students. Below is the parking map again for reference.
Food Services and Bus Passes
We will continue to provide free breakfast and lunch to all students this year. We do ask that you complete the application on the district webpage. It is very important that ALL families complete this form, as it helps us with funding in several different areas.
If your child will be riding the bus this year and will need a bus pass, please make sure you purchase your bus pass online here. Once you log in to LinqConnect you will see "School Store" on the bottom right hand corn. Click that to buy your pass. Any questions contact the transportation department at 831-336-2223
Please also complete the following form for all students riding the bus.
