Kristina Walter - Elementary Art

Tell us about your family.

My husband, Paul, and I have been married for 12 years. We have two amazing children. Raelynn (10), who is in 4th grade, loves tumbling, creating, and is obsessed with axolotls. Austin (6), who is in 1st grade, loves playing basketball, watching football with his dad, and has discovered the world of Pokémon. We also have two pets - our dog, JoJo, and our cat, Pepper.

What is something that makes you really proud?

Watching my kids grow up has really made me a proud mom! I am always amazed to see what they can do and accomplish on their own. I am also really proud when I try to grow things in my yard and outsmart the little critters that try to eat everything. It’s the best feeling! :)

What is your favorite hobby?

I love creating, crafting, gardening (at least trying), and spending time outdoors. Traveling, hiking, and learning about animals and nature have always been favorites!

What is your favorite food?

Italian food- any type of pasta dish!

What is something you have learned lately?

I recently learned about a new app that will identify bird calls (Merlin Bird ID). It’s been super fun listening to the birds in our yard or on walks and knowing which ones are which.

If you were an animal, what would you be and why?

A jellyfish. They are beautiful and mesmerizing creatures that represent tranquility and can drift through life without worry.

What is your favorite thing about PG?

I really enjoy learning more about my students as I spend time with them over the years. I love being able to walk down the halls and see so many smiling, familiar faces!

Sue Lehner-Special Education Team Leader

Tell us about your family.

My family consists of my two “children”, Brad and Allie, and my dog Alvin. Brad is 29 and Allie is 28, and they both live in Crystal Lake. They are amazing people and I am so proud of both of them! Alvin is 16 and is a sweet little guy!

What is something that makes you really proud?

Something that makes me really proud is when I see people going out of their way to be kind.

What is your favorite hobby?

My favorite hobby is doing puzzles like Sudoku and logic puzzles.

What is your favorite food?

My favorite food is pizza. Thin crust, deep dish…it doesn’t matter what kind!

What is something you have learned lately?

Something I have learned recently is how to knit. I am not very good at it yet, but I am getting better with practice. I am trying to knit a pumpkin.

If you were an animal, what would you be and why?

If I were an animal, I would want to be a dog because they get to be around people, play, get taken care of, and sleep inside. I would also love to be a squirrel because they are cute and can run up trees, along wires, and always seem to be happy and having fun.

What is your favorite thing about PG?

My favorite thing about Prairie Grove is the people - the students, families, and staff!!! They are the best!!!
