Thanksgiving Vacation

Please mark your calendar.

There will be NO SCHOOL on:

Wednesday, November 26th,

Thursday, November 27th, or

Friday, November 28th.

Classes will resume on Monday, December 1st!

Brrrrrrr.....It's Cold Outside (sometimes!!!)

November is here, which means Jack Frost is here too - every so often! This means jackets, gloves, hats, and maybe even boots will be needed some days at school! It also means that students should NOT be wearing tank tops and shorts without heavier layers over them.

Please make sure that you are checking the weather so you can ensure your child is dressed appropriate for school.

All classes WILL go outside for at least one 20 minutes recess if the actual (or feels like) temperature is above 20 degrees! This means 21 degrees or higher, and students are outside (and 21 degrees is still pretty cold)!

The only other reasons that we would stay inside would be rain, an excess amount of snow that has not been shoveled from the basketball court, or a burial happening during recess time.

Remember, recess is a full 20 minutes - so when in doubt, send that coat!

As we turn the calendar to November, we are focusing on being thankful for one another. We’re reminding students that gratitude means more than saying “thank you” — it’s also about including others, showing kindness, and appreciating what makes each person special. Together, we’re building a school family where everyone feels they belong.

Here are some ideas to help continue our theme at home:

✨Thankful and Kind Moments

Each person can share something they’re thankful for about someone else in the family. It’s a simple way to practice gratitude and remind everyone how good it feels to be included and appreciated.

✨Kindness Jar

Place a jar in the kitchen or living room. All week, family members can write small acts of kindness they notice or ways they included someone else. Read them together at the end of the week to celebrate how everyone made others feel special!

Guidance with Mrs. O. Guidance with Mrs. O.

Throughout the month of November, Mrs. O will be working with Kindergarten through 5th grade students on the character trait of GRATITUDE. This trait helps students focus on being well with positive self talk, emotional regulations, and stress-management. Check out the Family Newsletter below for some great PurposeFULL Pursuits for your family!

How to Celebrate World Kindness Day

November 13th is World Kindness Day! It has been celebrated around the WORLD since 1998!!

As World Kindness Day 2025 approaches, let’s come together to celebrate the power of kindness that unites us all. This day provides an opportunity to reflect on the positive power we hold to make a difference in the lives of others.

By focusing on acts of kindness, we can create a ripple effect that spreads throughout our communities and beyond.

We can celebrate World Kindness Day by spreading kindness at home, at work, and throughout our school community. Share kindness cards with uplifting messages, organize activities that highlight good deeds, and engage in conversations that promote empathy and understanding.

Together, we can make a difference and create a brighter, more compassionate world. The point of November 13th is to highlight kindness, so share it with everyone you meet! Let kindness be the language you speak on this special day. Small acts can have a big impact. Surprise a stranger with a kind note, help an elderly neighbor with their groceries, plant a tree, or buy a cup of coffee for the person behind you in line.
