For much of the content, students are the primary audience. Parents, please encourage your student to regularly check their Parkway email account to review the newsletter.

FREE MEALS ENDED!

Since the start of the pandemic in 2020, Parkway has provided free meals for all students through the funding provided by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, which has been extended multiple times by Congress. That funding has expired, which means that free meals will no longer be available to all Parkway students in the 2022-2023 school year. Families who submitted and were approved for free/reduced meals 21-22 School Year, will carry over that status for the first 30 days of the 2022-2023 School Year. All families are required to reapply starting July 2022 when the income guidelines change in order to be eligible for free/reduced meals throughout the whole school year of 2022-2023. The 2022 edition of Spur, Central High's yearbook, is in. Yearbooks will be available for pick up on Tuesday, August 2 from 07:30 am - 12:00 pm in the Gym A Foyer.

We do have a few additional copies for sale: $70 per yearbook (payable with cash or check). Please contact Ms. Christine Stricker with questions (cstricker@parkwayschools.net).

Orientation for all students new to Central High (grades 9 - 12) is scheduled for Friday, August 19, 2022 from 09:35 am - 01:30 pm. New sophomores, juniors and seniors will attend a separate orientation program from incoming 9th graders

Bus transportation will be available --- bus routes will run two hours later than a regular school day (e.g. a regular bus pick up time of 06:58 am will be at 08:58 am for orientation). Families will receive bus pick up times prior to orientation. For students being dropped off, please plan to arrive to PCH by 9:20 am. For new juniors and seniors driving themselves, please park in the main lot in front of school.

Lunch will be provided for all new students free of charge through the Central High cafeteria.

For students who have practice that afternoon, there will be a supervised location for you to wait if you choose to stay at school. Plan to bring an afternoon snack!

Additional details will be shared prior to orientation. The progress of the construction will influence our plan for the day. Again, thank you for your patience!

Central High's annual meeting for new parents is scheduledl for Tuesday, August 16, 2022 at 06:30 pm. Our goals is to live stream the mneeting. Parents will have the option to attend in-person in the theater or to stream the meeting. Additional details to come!

Students, you will be able to access and review your first semester course schedule through Infinite Campus on Wednesday, August 17, 2022!

Only senior and junior students will be eligible to park on campus during the school day (07:35 am - 02:30 pm). Campus includes parking lots and driveways connected to Central HIgh, Central Middle, Parkway Administration, and Parkway Facilities. Senior and junior students and parents will receive a separate email next week with addtional information about student parking and a link to sign up for a school issued parking pass. Parking passes are $85 for the school year.

Unfortunately, sophomores and freshmen and are not elegible to park on campus. Thank you, in advance, for your understanding and cooperation.

In addition to the projects below, the restrooms in the upper commons and near the theater are being completely renovated along with a few other improvements in the building. There is still a fair amount of work to be done with only a few weeks left before our first day of school, but the construction crew is optimistic! Given that reality, access to the building will continue to be limited. Thank you for both your support of these projects and your patience through the construction. More updates to come!
