Dear GLOBE families,

Orientation Day takes place on Monday, August 4, from 7:30am until 12:30pm.

The purpose of GLOBE Orientation is to provide you with back-to-school resources and build our partnership with you and your student(s) prior to the first day of school on Wednesday, August 6.

Be sure to drop by to do the following:

• Visit your campus and classrooms

• Learn homeroom assignments (Official HR assignments will be provided during Orientation)

• Meet your teachers

• Drop off school supplies

• Get GLOBE gear (read our uniform policy here)

• Shop spirit wear

• Shop gently used uniforms

• Meet campus nurses and drop off student health forms and medications (if required)

• Learn about our Athletics program and participation requirements

• Connect with PTCC (Parent Teacher Community Council)

• Donate to the Annual Fund

• Purchase Chromebook Insurance (required for ALL Middle School students, 6th-8th)

• Complete the Walker Release Form (Upper Campus only, see information below)

• Order your 2025-26 Yearbook for $45 before the price increases on Wednesday, August 6

On Thursday, July 17, you should have received this email from our Admissions Team regarding the Student Verification Form that must be completed for every student (new and returning). These forms must be completed by Wednesday, August 6.

Morning drop-off for Upper Campus: 8:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.

Afternoon pick-up for Upper Campus: 3:40pm.

Please do not line up for afternoon carpool until 3:15pm.

A recent Eagle Scout project over the summer months saw the installation of the Walker Flight Path at Upper Campus (UC), which connects the entry gate at the front of the school by the Shallowford/Briarcliff crosswalk, to the walker door entrance at the rear of Upper Campus.

The Walker Flight Path will significantly increase safety and visibility as students traverse the main parking lot and carpool lines during morning arrival and afternoon dismissal.

GLOBE would like to extend our sincerest thanks to all of the volunteers who worked in the summer heat to bring this wonderful project to life!

Remember: All UC students are required to complete a new Walker Release Form at the start of the new school year. UC families can complete a Walker Release Form, along with other required student information, by completing this form.

New Upper Campus requirement for 2025/26

GLOBE are requesting that only students who live within a mile radius of Upper Campus walk to school, and that all other students are dropped off using the already well established carpool system. This is a new initiative to reduce traffic congestion in the area at peak times and build a trusted relationship with our close neighbors.

Upper Campus families can complete some required forms (including the Walker Release Form) ahead of time, by clicking here. These forms will also be available on Orientation Day.

GLOBE's Transportation Ridership Program provides morning and afternoon bus transportation between a satellite hub and the Lower and Upper GLOBE campuses. The hub is located at the Exchange Recreation Center : 2771 Columbia Dr, Decatur, GA 30034.

All students that would like to ride the bus, even those that rode last year, must complete the application for the 2025/2026 school year.

GLOBE will contact you to confirm your seat(s) and to make payment arrangements, or to notify you that you are on a waitlist. If you have any questions, please reach out to Jen Parker, GLOBE's Director of Operations, by email.

All students may apply to receive free or reduced price meals at The GLOBE Academy by completing an online School Meals Application. Applying for meal benefits is fast, easy, and free. Now you can apply for free or reduced-price school meals the easy way online.

If you receive a letter from the DeKalb County School Nutrition Office in July or August stating that you are already qualified for the 2025-2026 school year, DO NOT complete another application. List any additional students in your household and return the letter you received to nutrition@theglobeacademy.net.

The Extended Care Program comprises three programs; Before Care Program (BCP), After Care Program (ACP), and Enrichment Program. ECP is offered at both Lower and Upper Campuses. You can find out more and register for the program, here.

Before Care: Lower Campus 7:00 a.m. to 7:25 a.m. | Upper Campus 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m.

After Care ends at 6pm at both campuses.

Athletics is a big part of the GLOBE experience. There are 26 teams in 10 different sports that are open to 5th through 8th grade students throughout the school year.
