CB Realignment Plan - Community Update/Board Decision
Thank you to those who have provided feedback and helped guide our decision-making processes. You can watch a recording of the Feb. 21st informational meeting held at Tohickon and view more information on realignment in CBSD here.
The official full School Board vote on the realignment plan occurred at the Board meeting on March 12. The decision was made to delay the initial plan for one-year for better planning and implementation. Realignment will now take place for the 2026-27 school year. A full-day kindergarten pilot will take place during the 2025-2026 school year at select schools that have yet to be determined (and dependent upon available space).
If you have questions, concerns, or feedback, you can share it here.

Butler Lost & Found - LAST CALL
The Butler Lost & Found has acquired a collection of jackets, sweatshirts, hats, gloves, and water bottles across varied outdoor recesses/basketball nights throughout the fall and winter seasons. Encourage your child to visit the Lost and Found (or seek an office staff member to help) by the gym atrium doors. At the end of March (Spring Break Week), we will send to donation. So, if you cannot seem to find your child's warm, outdoor clothing at home, there is a good chance it was left behind at school waiting for your retrieval! Please visit the main office to peruse the racks to find you child's missing item!

In celebration of the national recognition of reading, Butler explored several activities and themes throughout the week. Every classroom coordinated efforts in spending time reading for pleasure and celebrating the magic of a story. The rest of this month, students will be tracking their reading to earn a special award for their efforts with DEAR time at home. Look for those emails, each Friday!

Bucks IU Mobile Fab Lab at Butler - 3/4-3/7
The Mobile Fab Lab had an amazing week at Butler Elementary School! 5th Grade Students became expert designers using a CAD (Computer Aided Design) program named Tinkercad! They used what they learned in Tinkercad to create 3D objects to enhance their “Electric City” project for Quest.
During the time the mobile lab was at Butler, each classroom visited the Fab Lab for two classes. On day one, they learned how to add shapes, move/shift shapes, and how to group the shapes to create the model. On day two, students worked in their groups to design something that would typically be in a city or town. The creativity was soaring as the groups designed fire hydrants, traffic lights, stop signs, and various other neighborhood items. All students were engaged designers and engineers as they worked collaboratively to bring their ideas to life!
Spirit Day Assembly - Celebrating End of Trimester 2!
To celebrate the hard work of our students, and the end to the second trimester, Butler held a Spirit Assembly Friday morning (3/8) to highlight everyone's efforts! Led by Ms. Griffin and the Spirit Assembly Committee, games and activities were planned to celebrate, including a slide show of TM2 and launching into the assembly with Butler's Anthem! It was a fun morning with lots of laughs watching the teachers "do a jig"! Earlier that week, students were asked "what makes them lucky to know their teacher." Each teacher at Butler read their compliments displayed during the assembly - We are so lucky to have amazing students and teachers at Butler!
Third Grade Life Cycles units - Baby Chicks Have Arrived!
The excitement continued for our feathered friends in 3rd grade! Our baby chicks hatched, while students and staff studied their growth, development, and habits throughout the week! The children were thrilled and excited for the learning that took place this week with their Life Cycles Unit! The chicks went back to the farm and the children shared their goodbyes following an exciting week!
Kindergarten St. Patrick Activities
Kindergarten has been learning a lot about sequencing events in stories. Classrooms read the story How to Catch a Leprechaun and started brainstorming our own ideas. While using words like first, next, and last, Kindergarten built their plan on creating traps for the "crafty leprechaun who sometimes makes his way" throughout Butler. In Ms. Van Houten's class, following their planning, parents and students put their heads together bringing their visions to life! On 3/14, students brought their traps in, shared with the class, and set them in a special spot in hopes to catch our leprechaun tomorrow before St. Patrick's Day this Sunday!
