Returning to where it all began before they cross the Graduation stage.

For our elementary students, the Class of 2026 symbolizes all they can accomplish and what they will become!!
Using the World Cup as a Learning Opportunity at CPS
Thank you to NPR, WBUR, WHDH (Channel 7) and Boston 25 News for coverage some of the World Cup learning happening at our elementary schools this year!
CPS, alongside our partners Soccer Without Borders, have brought the World Cup into the classroom for our elementary school students.
Additionally 18 CPS students who play soccer with Soccer Without Borders will be on the field at Gillette Stadium for select games this month as part of the Quaker Oats Player Escort Program. Watch the videos below to meet Valentina and Lucas, two of these amazing students who are part of this program!
Vlad Link '06 to Serve as Graduation Keynote Speaker, Visits Williams School
Vlad Link '06, Chief Hospital Corpsman in the United States Navy who served on the mission that safely welcomed the Artemis II crew to Earth early this year, is back in Chelsea to be the Keynote Speaker at tonight's Graduation Ceremony!
During the day today, Vlad toured his former middle school, the Williams School, visiting classrooms at both the Browne and Wright to share his story to students at the same school where he attended. He even ran into Mr. Fay, one of his middle school teachers!
CHS Student Sings National Anthem at State House
Congratulations to Kimberly, a member of the graduating class of 2026 at CHS who sang the National Anthem this morning at the presentation of the Deborah Sampson Award at the State House!
The Deborah Sampson Award honors a Massachusetts female veteran who has demonstrated exceptional service, leadership, and dedication to supporting fellow women veterans. Presented annually by the Executive Office of Veterans Services' Women Veterans Network, this award recognizes those who advocate for, uplift, and empower women in the veteran community.
ILP 2026 High School Equivalency Graduation Ceremony.
Congratulations to all the graduates who were honored at the Intergenerational Literacy Program's 2026 High School Equivalency Graduation Ceremony last weekend!
Instructional Coaches Showcase
Today, our district’s instructional coaches came together for a showcase to reflect on their learning, share effective strategies, and think about the next level of work in their schools. It was inspiring to see the impact they have made throughout the year and to celebrate just a small glimpse of the many ways they support educators and students every day.
June SEPAC Meeting
At our most recent SEPAC meeting, families had the opportunity to hear from Massachusetts Advocates for Children (MAC) on the important topic of bullying prevention and student rights. The presentation provided valuable information about recognizing bullying, understanding legal protections for students, and advocating effectively within the school system. Families appreciated the practical guidance and resources shared to help ensure all children have access to a safe, supportive, and inclusive educational experience.
Juneteenth Day in Chelsea
Chelsea Black Community (CBC) will be hosting Juneteenth Day on, June 19th, 2026 at Washington Park (386 Washington Avenue) in Chelsea from 12:00-5:00pm.
Juneteenth commemorates the end of slavery in the United States. It marks June 19, 1865, when Union soldiers arrived in Galveston and announced that the Civil War had ended and that enslaved African Americans were free. This occurred more than two years after the issuance of the Emancipation Proclamation. Juneteenth is a celebration of freedom, resilience, and the ongoing pursuit of equality and justice.

EARLY LEARNING CENTER UPDATES
ELC 1st Grader Named Finalist for "My Ideal School" Contest
Selected among over 1,000 submissions across the Commonwealth, ELC 1st grader, Scarlett Bock, was one of this year's finalists for the 17th Annual MSBA “My Ideal School” Contest for First Grade Students. Ten finalists were selected and were invited on June 10, 2026 to the statehouse by Treasurer Deborah B Goldberg.
Congratulations, Scarlett!
Room 245 Afterschool Learning Fun
Yesterday, students in Room 245 enjoyed a fun and engaging literacy activity inspired by Pete the Cat: Trip to the Supermarket. First-grade students took turns reading pages aloud, while our kindergarten students eagerly joined in by reading words and parts of the story at their own level.
The book encouraged meaningful discussions about everyday life, including navigating the supermarket, identifying different sections of the store, making healthy food choices, and being willing to try new foods and experiences. Students also practiced expressing their thoughts, listening to their peers, and building confidence as readers.
What made the activity especially rewarding was seeing the excitement, laughter, and curiosity it sparked. Simple experiences like shared reading can help children connect classroom learning to real-life situations and inspire conversations they can continue at home with their families.
A wonderful afternoon of learning, participation, and smiles in Room 245 with Ms. Viviana and Ms. Naimo!
BERKOWITZ SCHOOL UPDATES
Field Day!
The Berkowitz School Field Day was a wonderful success! Students enjoyed a day filled with music, games, and plenty of laughter. The celebration ended on a perfect note with a cold, refreshing ice cream treat that everyone loved.
HOOKS SCHOOL UPDATES
Annual Hooks Family Picnic!
This past Tuesday, we hosted our Annual Hooks Family Picnic. It was a beautiful day to celebrate the hard work our students and staff have put in this year and come together as a school community! Everyone had a great time and we are ready to finish the year strong!
Teamwork and Community at Field Day
Students from Rooms 312 and 205 came together for Field Day and demonstrated what teamwork and community are all about. Buddies partnered up throughout the day, encouraging one another, celebrating successes, and making sure everyone felt included. It was wonderful to see students looking out for each other, building connections across grade levels, and showing kindness and sportsmanship while having fun.
Spring Concert
Our Spring Concert was held on Thursday morning in a cafeteria filled with proud families and excited students who shared the joy music brings into our lives. The concert was a complete success and it was a beautiful display of the hard work our students and Ms. Johnson put in to bring it to life!
KELLY SCHOOL UPDATES
Field Day!
Kelly School Scholars had a blast practicing some cooperation, teamwork, and a little fun competition at Field Day on Thursday! Kelly School specialists really rose to the occasion to plan a safe, fun, day! Big thanks to all our Kelly staff, plus our 12 CHS volunteers from the National Honor Society and the dozens of parents who came to play along!
Parade of Graduates
Everybody's favorite June tradition -- the Parade of Graduates at the Elementary Complex -- was once again a joyful occasion to welcome the Class of 2026 "full circle." We love seeing our kids full of pride in their graduating siblings and cousins!
This year's seniors were the first Caminos cohort to stay at the Kelly through 6th grade as the program grew, then transitioned to the Browne Middle School -- so this group has a special place in our hearts! (So special, in fact, that Sr. Gómez and Ms. Anderson wore their love for their muchachos on their shirts today!) That caring connection is mutual -- 21 members of the CHS Class of 2026 / Kelly School 6th grade class of 2020 came back to visit and reconnect with their former teachers last week.
As we always tell our Kelly Scholars at graduation: "Once you've been part of the Kelly School family, you will always be part of the Kelly School family."
¡Felicidades, Clase de 2026! ¡Ve a hacer cosas increíbles con tus superpoderes bilingües!
Drama Club Performance
Kelly Drama Club students performed a humorous and engaging retelling of "The Geese That Lay the Golden Egg" for an appreciative audience of families and staff on Wednesday afternoon. Club leaders Lisa Button and Taylor Gold led kids through some of their improv and vocal warmups to help families understand the skills kids have been building, and then kids donned their costumes and got the audience laughing and learning with the classic tale about being greedy and learning to appreciate having "enough."
It was amazing to see Kelly kids lifting their voices to bring the story to life!
SOKOLOWSKI SCHOOL UPDATES

Becoming Artists in 102
102 wrapped up their unit about Artists by becoming artists themselves! They chose their favorite artist and made a piece of art using the same technique and inspiration.
Meeting a Class in Ontario!
Ms Gibbons, third grade class had a meeting with Mr. Walters' second grade French immersion class in the Durham District School Board in Ontario, Canada. Ms. Gibbons-Morales' class is learning about Canada for the World Cup activities across the elementary complex. The students asked each other questions about their schools, countries and the teams and players they are cheering for in the World Cup!

The Chelsea High School Model UN team had the privilege of participating in a guided tour of the United Nations Headquarters in New York City.
Students experienced the work of the United Nations firsthand while learning about its history, mission, achievements, and ongoing challenges worldwide. They visited several UN chambers and gained valuable insight into the role the organization plays in promoting international cooperation, diplomacy, peacekeeping, and humanitarian efforts.
We are incredibly grateful for this opportunity, which allowed our students to connect their classroom learning and participation in Model UN conferences to the work of one of the world's most important international organizations.
