We have had a very positive start to the school year. The student response to the new personal technology device (PTD) expectations has been good and we are very appreciative of their adaptability. As a reminder, the following items are considered PTD and can only be used before school, lunch and after school.
What is a Personal Technology Device (PTD)?
A PTD includes any privately-owned portable device. Examples include:
Cell phones and smart watches

Families, please consider purchasing Chromebook Insurance!
Every student in our school has been issued a Chromebook and Charger, which they are responsible for taking care of and that they have the opportunity to take with them after Graduation. Repair costs for Chromebooks that are accidentally damaged virtually always exceed the cost of a year of coverage. You can purchase insurance for your student’s chromebook by following the instructions provided on this district webpage; all BHS students have Lenovo model chromebooks, and you’ll need the asset tag number on the bottom of the chromebook. If you are unable to locate the asset tag number, please call 970-613-7727 during school hours or email carin.barrett@tsd.org. If you have any issues or questions about the insurance enrollment portal itself (the Safeware website), please call our Innovative Technology Services help desk at 970-613-7777.

This is a wonderful opportunity to connect directly with school leadership, ask questions, and hear about our goals for the 2026–2027 school year. We hope to see you there!

BHS Make for Good Opportunities
In-School, “always open” opportunity, now - September 30!
Join us in the Compassionate Makerspace in the library during an open period to make one or many port pillows for the Infusion Center at Medical Center of the Rockies. Port pillows cushion and protect a patient's surgically implanted medical port from the painful pressure and friction of a car seat belt. Come share your established skills or let us teach you how, and earn community service hours without even leaving the school!
In-School, “always available,” ongoing opportunity!
Stop by the library during an open period to partner with our Compassionate Makerspace and create a set of blank birthday cards for the clients of two area nonprofits, Meals on Wheels of Loveland and Berthoud, and Project Self Sufficiency. Using a kit you’ll craft 14 cards - no experience is necessary.
Consider this great local opportunity!
Saturday, September 19, 2026, opportunities between 3:00pm and 6:30pm

🥪🥛 2026-2027 Meal Application Information 🍏🥗
For the 2026-2027 school year, the Thompson School District will provide access to free meals for all students through the Healthy School Meals for All program. This program ensures enrolled students are provided free breakfast and lunch, regardless of family income.
Although all students will receive access to free meals, it’s still important for households to provide their income information when requested. Gathering this information allows the Thompson School District to receive the state and federal funding we qualify for. These funds go directly to schools to help cover the cost of meals and support after-school activities and other programs for students. Plus, qualifying households may be eligible for Summer EBT benefits, receive discounted or waived school fees, etc. Providing household income information ensures you and your school receive all available financial support. ***All household income information is confidential and will not be shared without your consent.***
The attachments contain more information on the application, and instructions for applying. While the following pages may reference eligibility for free or reduced-price school meals, access to breakfast and lunch will be provided free to all students regardless of household income.
We provide meals that meet or exceed the US Department of Agriculture nutrition standards and Dietary Guidelines for Americans. This year we are also increasing our items from local farmers and producers. You can be confident your children are getting quality meals while saving your family time and money.
Use the link below to apply online, or you may pick up a paper application at any TSD school or the Support Services Center and return or mail it to 2890 North Monroe Avenue Loveland, CO 80538.
