Dear Stinson Community,

Welcome to the 2026–2027 School Year in the Stinson Library! I am thrilled to kick off my third year as part of the Skyhawk family. I hope you had a fabulous summer, and like me, you are ready for all the growth, learning, and celebrations this new school year will bring.

As our campus construction reaches completion, the library will again be sharing space with some of our counselors and administrators in temporary offices. Despite the extra activity, the library remains fully open and operational! We will continue to host class visits, club meetings, and special events, as well as welcome students before school and during lunches to study, read, and work.

Here is a look at what’s featured in this month’s newsletter:

• Digital Resources: Access links to all of our secondary digital tools. Log in to your NISD portal to view the passwords needed for home access.

• Monthly Book Recommendations: Start your reading year off strong with our featured book picks.

• Student Survey: Students, please take a moment to complete this brief survey so I can tailor the library to your interests.

• Library Clubs: Interested in Book Club or Maker Space? Learn how to join during our upcoming Club Rush event.

Please don't hesitate to reach out if you need assistance with research, book suggestions, or digital resources. I look forward to a great year ahead!

Save the date for this year's Library Palooza, coming to Northside on February 27, 2027. Be sure to check out your Library course tile in Schoology! Inside you will find links to all of our monthly promotions & contests, weekly book talks and trailers, library projects, as well as information about digital resources, password, and research help!

Each year, the Texas Library Association compiles a list of 30 great books for students in grades 6-8. Start your school year off by reading a Lone Star Book! Click the picture below to find out more about the 2026 Lone Star Books and stop by the library to check one out.

Returning Skyhawks will notice a different format for the Library Calendar. Please use this link to view what is currently scheduled in the Library. Teachers and staff, call or email Mrs. Stafford to schedule classes or events.

The Stinson Library has an Amazon wish list to help us purchase supplies for our maker spaces, board games, prizes and incentives for our monthly library contests and other items. Please do not feel obligated to purchase anything, but if you would like to donate something to the library, we are always appreciative!
