I hope you all had a wonderful winter break filled with cherished moments with family and friends. This time of year is rich with traditions and celebrations, and I know each of our homes has its unique ways of creating joy and connection. I also want to take a moment to thank you for the thoughtful cards and gifts. Your kindness is truly appreciated!
In honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s Day of Service, the Hubbard Woods PTO and Staff are excited to launch the Month of Service and Learning (MOSAL)! This project will engage our children in a meaningful service learning project designed to deepen their social awareness and understanding of how we can work together to make a positive impact on others.
We are excited to partner with The Grace Network, an organization that collaborates with Chicago Public Schools to support children facing hygiene insecurities.
Our collective goal at Hubbard Woods is to assemble 1,000 hygiene kits and collect 1,000 pairs of socks to benefit children in need. We invite you to join us in this effort by encouraging your children to participate and contributing in the following ways:
1. Purchase hygiene kit items.
2. Bring your favorite socks to school for collection!
During the first week of February, students will put together the kits, which will be picked up by Grace Network to be distributed to children in need.
Together, we can make a difference while nurturing our students' sense of community and understanding of different people's circumstances.
