Wiggin Street Parent Update

Dear Wiggin Street Families,

We hope your family enjoys a wonderful long weekend and a Happy Valentine’s Day! Tomorrow is a Teacher Work Day, so there will be no school for students. There is also no school on Monday in observance of President’s Day.

We’re sharing snapshots from another joyful day of learning and laughter at Wiggin Street!

We are also excited to welcome Troy Cummings to Wiggin Street soon! Don’t forget to order books written and illustrated by him, and please mark your calendar for Literacy Night on March 19th. Additional details will be shared soon.

Best wishes,
Christy Grandstaff
Principal, Wiggin Street Elementary

We will be hosting a Literacy Night on March 19th from 6:30-8:00 pm, and Troy Cummings will be the visiting Author and Illustrator. He will visit students during the day and then in the evening with families. Students brought home pre-order forms this week for Troy Cummings' books, and the forms are due by February 23rd. Payment can be made by cash or check.

You can also order his books online through this link from Paragraphs!

As students in grades 3-5 prepare for Ohio State Tests that will take place in April, it is always helpful for parents to understand the expectations for their child. This site offers families a practice test and information to better familiarize themselves with the tests.

Community flyers can be found on our district website here. Check them out!

Winter Weather

Please remember that students will go outside on days where the temperature with wind chill accounted for is 20°f and above. Be sure your child is dressed appropriately for the weather each day. Coats, hats, and gloves are necessary at this time of the year. Boots are required for playing in the snow. If you need assistance with winter outerwear for your child, please contact our school, and we will happily find warm clothes for them.
