Hard Rock Casino's "Do Well By Doing Good" Scholarship Opportunity!!!

New Guidance Counselor Procedures
We have updated the procedures for students who need to visit the Guidance Office.
All students should watch the brief 11-minute presentation linked above to learn about the new process. Please take time to review the presentation so you understand when and how to request assistance from the Guidance Office.
These procedures are designed to help students get the support they need while minimizing missed instructional time.
After viewing the presentation, students will be expected to follow the new Guidance Office procedures.
Uniform Enforcement Update
To make uniform checks more consistent across the school, we are changing how uniform violations will be handled.
Going forward, random school-wide uniform checks will take place during first period.
On uniform check days, an announcement will be made. If you are out of uniform:
If you are downstairs, report to LLAB.
If you are upstairs, report to LLCD.
Teachers will no longer send students individually to the office or another area for uniform violations.
The goal is to handle uniform concerns early in the day so that fewer students are being removed from class later.
Please come to school in the correct uniform each day and be prepared to follow directions when a uniform check is announced.
Introducing... The Angel Room!
After the severe storm that impacted Gary and surrounding communities on August 11, 2026, many organizations and community members donated food, household items, hygiene products, and other important supplies to help local families.
To make these resources easier to access, GCSC Superintendent Dr. Yvonne Stokes created the Angel Room.
The Angel Room is a place where donated items and other resources are available to GCSC employees, students, and families who may need extra support.
If you or your family are in need of necessities, supplies, or other available resources, you may submit a confidential request by emailing info@garycsc.k12.in.us.
Please remember: asking for help is always okay, and requests will be handled privately.

Special Shout-Out to Dean Jones!
The WSLA cafeteria manager and staff recently recognized Dean Jones for stepping up and saving the day!
When the cafeteria was short-staffed and needed extra help preparing a special popcorn treat for students, Dean Jones jumped right in without being asked! She popped and served popcorn during all three lunch periods and even stayed to help with cleanup afterward.
To show their appreciation, the cafeteria team surprised Dean Jones with a gift bag full of goodies!
Thank you, Dean Jones, for going above and beyond! Your willingness to lend a helping hand is a wonderful example of teamwork and Cougar Pride!
