End of the Year 2023-24 End of the Year 2023-24

The final term of this academic year is over. The exams are finished and for the IGSCE, AS and A-level students the relief is tempered with the wait for results. Do you remember that feeling?

The term highlights included a memorable music concert where we had performances from the school worship team and the Primary Choir along with solo recitals from both primary and secondary students. The evening also included a rousing orchestral production from the KISC Orchestra and Nepal Police Band.

The Graduation Ceremony The Graduation Ceremony

We celebrated with the Year 12 students as they graduated in style and we pray for them as they head out into the world. This year our graduates spread their wings and fly off in different directions including the USA, Korea, and Nepal. Find their Q&A video and the memory video on the KISC YouTube channel. If you haven't done so already, we would like to encourage you to subscribe to the channel for the new videos.

Farewell Farewell

The end of the school year is always tinged with sadness as we say goodbye to students and staff who have become friends over the years. We bid farewell to many staff including the director. However, we can already welcome some to the Alumni Programme! Thanks for signing up!

Family Return Family Return

It was great to welcome Rae-Anna, Alyssa and Jordan to KISC, along with Alyssa’s husband, Kyle.

Sisters Rae-Anna and Alyssa attended KISC in the early 2000s, when it was located in Naya Baneshwor and their brother, Jordan, spent his student years, 2008-11, at the Dhobighat site.

Rae-Anna is currently based in Osaka, Japan and has been featured in a previous alumni newsletter, you can find her in Alumni Spotlight on the KISC website. Alyssa and Kyle and their three boys are based in Winnipeg, Canada, where Alyssa is an early years teacher. Jordan lives in Saskatoon, Canada where he does landscaping.

Their collective memories of all the positive things about KISC revolved around socials and electives but also the diversity of the school and the opportunity to have such a diverse range of friendships. Rae-Anna maintains that KISC is the best school that she ever attended.

A Big Shout Out A Big Shout Out

A massive thank you to alumni Yerin Lim, Yedo Yi, and Joshua Yu who have been volunteering at KISC during the last term. Yerin helped out in the Library, Yedo in the PE department and Joshua in the IT department. It’s brilliant to have former students returning to support the school.

KISC Socials KISC Socials

Remember the Socials? Each year they are a highlight in the calendar for both students and staff. This year the students, arranged by the student council, have, among other things, enjoyed a beach party and a masquerade ball.

The staff on the other hand fought it out in a lip sync battle and karaoke night, and swapped presents at their Christmas party. What socials do you remember? Share your memories with us - email alumni@kisc.edu.np.

KISC EQUIP KISC EQUIP

The EQUIP trainers have been busy travelling to two of our project sites in the last few weeks - West Rukum (18 partner schools) and Sihara (4 partner schools). In Lamjung, our other focus area, discussions are continuing to start a new project in the district with seven partner schools.
