Principal's note:
Dear MMS Families,
Congratulations to the Class of 2025—and to our entire school community—for finishing a fantastic year! We’re so proud of everything our students have accomplished, and we wish each of you a fun, safe, and restful summer.
As we wrap up the year, here are just a few highlights worth celebrating:
-
Our Track and Field Team had an outstanding season, with several athletes competing—and medaling—at the state championships.
Fantastic medaling performances by John Marthinsen, Kelsey Davis, Lyla Blethen, Veronica Ward, Peytan Barber, Katie Hayes and Isabella Allen!
-
Special congratulations to Emma Genovese, our D3 state champion in the mile, and the 4x400 relay team of Andrew August, JJ Cook, Tim Fay, and Jacob Smith!
-
Grade 8 students enjoyed a great day of outdoor fun and team-building at TreeTop Adventures. A big thank you to Mr. Benham for driving the busses, writing the MERIT grant for this experience and organizing this special day!
-
We welcomed families for our Student Showcase, where students shared a year’s worth of growth, creativity, and hard work.
MMS Class of 2029 gives a huge thank you to Amanda McGee for all of her time and effort coordinating snacks, drinks, and parent volunteers for the 8th grade dance last Friday night! From decorations to clean-up, it was a true team effort—and a fantastic night for our students thanks to YOU!
-
The Grade 8 Completion Ceremony was a meaningful way to celebrate our oldest students before they move on to high school. Thank you so much to Mr. Mark Femino and our eighth grade MMS Choral performers!!
A few summer reminders:
-
Summer reading and school supply lists are included in this newsletter. Students are expected to read one of the summer reading books—but we’ll be celebrating anyone who reads all seven!
-
Be sure to complete bus registration and fall sports sign-ups as soon as possible to help us plan for a smooth September start.
-
Our Incoming Sixth Grade Student & Parent Orientation Night is Wednesday, August 21st at 6 PM—a great opportunity to get to know our school.
Thank you for a wonderful year. We can’t wait to see what’s next!
Have a great summer!
Grade 8 Field Trip to State House and Fenway Park
Grade 8 had a great field trip into Boston on Wednesday. First stop was the State House, where they toured then had a meet and greet with State Representative James Arena-DeRosa and Senator Rebecca Rausch. This was followed by lunch on Boylston Street before heading to Fenway Park to take in a Red Sox game. The trip ended in a victory for the Sox with a walk-off homerun in the bottom of the 9th!
Grade 7 - Outsiders
Seventh graders have finished reading The Outsiders and students were invited to dress up as Greasers and Socs. Thank you to Mrs. Wendi Cantoreggi for this wonderful unit.

Art News
Millis Pride Coloring Book
Several art students from Millis Middle School and Millis High School have contributed drawings to a Millis Pride coloring book. Images in the book depict places or scenes important to Millis.
The project, which was lead by art teacher, Amy Radcliffe, was generously funded by Merit.
Copies will be distributed to all CFB K and 1st grade students before the end of the school year.
Thank you, Merit!
