An Update from the Principals
Good afternoon,
Although our halls were not filled with your children today, the Fairview staff had a wonderful opportunity to connect with colleagues at our Township Institute Day this morning as well as at Fairview this afternoon. The Fairview Staff was very fortunate to hear from speaker Shawn Achor, author of the book The Happiness Advantage. His TedTalk, The Happiness Advantage: Linking Positive Brains to Performance has over 2.4 million views on YouTube! His talk of happiness, optimism, and gratitude was a great way to start our weekend!
The week of March 13th, students in 3rd-8th grade will be taking the IAR (Illinois Assessment of Readiness) and the Illinois Science Assessment (5th and 8th grade students only). More information will be shared with you if you have a 3rd-8th grade student.
Have a great weekend!
Mr. Lopatka and Mrs. Larkin

1st-4th Grade Recess Assembly
This week students in 1st-4th grade participated in an assembly focused on strategies students can utilize during recess times. These unstructured times throughout the day can be challenging for our students. Mrs. Stacy Glascott, K-2 School Social Worker and Mrs. Martha Gale, School Psychologist, reviewed strategies with students, which will help to continue to foster problem solving skills, collaboration, and empathy. Be sure to ask your child/ren what they learned during the assembly!
Read Across America Week
Students loved participating in the daily themes this week for Read Across America! Please see a few photos below of our students from this week.
