Weekly Update
December 5, 2025
From the Principal
Dear Families,
Happy first week of Advent! During the first week of Advent, we remember the Old Testament prophets who foretold of Jesus’ coming with hope and anticipation. During the second week of Advent, we reflect on our lives and focus on becoming better-versions-of-ourselves in preparation for Jesus’ coming by remembering the journey Joseph and Mary took from Nazareth to Bethlehem. In all of the craziness of this season, I pray that you and your family will spend some time in the peace that only Jesus can bring.
Thank you to everyone that attended our Christmas Program this week. Mrs. Spotts and Dr. Brandt did such a good job preparing our students with their performances! The video of the show will be available on our YouTube channel sometime next week. Look for the upcoming newsletter with the information.
Our Adesse raffle fundraiser is in full swing! Congratulations to Jesse Spicer, the winner of our first drawing for a $50 gift card! Thank you to those families that have been working so hard to sell them. We have more tickets in the office if needed. If you are NOT able to sell all of your allotment, please return the unused tickets so we can hand them out to someone else. This helps us keep costs down from printing more for families that sell more. You may also direct people to purchase them online if you prefer.
We still have openings in every grade level in the event you know someone that is looking for a change. Please have them go to our website to schedule a visit or contact Mr. Peyton Glawe at peyton.glawe@aquinschools.org or 815-235-3154.
Have a Great Weekend!
Mrs. Heitkamp

Food Drive Week 6
“Give and gifts will be given to you…” — Luke 6:38
As we enter the final two weeks of our "Meals in a Bag" food drive for FACC (Week 6), we want to thank everyone who has contributed. We are overcome with the continued generosity and support we have received during this food drive. Your support is helping families in need this holiday season. If you are able, please consider sending at least one Meal in a Bag this week. If donation isn’t possible, amplifying our message by sharing this post helps just as much. Thank you for your kindness!
Looking ahead to week 7, we’ll shift focus to breakfast and lunch items for students' home on Christmas break.
*We carried week 4 into week 5, taking into account the Thanksgiving break.
