A Trip Down Goshen Lane
Issue 4: August 22, 2025
Principal's Message
Thursday we welcomed our FULL kindergarten group and this means we are now altogether as a Goshen family. All students have been busy learning about each other, classroom and school routines, and have also started classes for math, reading, and writing. Some have also begun working in science and social studies.
Please be on the lookout for important information from your child's classroom teacher that gives the curriculum details your child will be learning about this year!
A SHOUT OUT to families for their their hard work at arrival and dismissal. Walkers are arriving on time in the morning. More students are coming in knowing if they should eat breakfast or not. Cars at pickup have their numbers visible. More students know their car number. Etc. We know it's a team effort for us to keep things moving, but we are proud that the car pickup line is now 10 minute less then it was when school started. THANK YOU! **Reminder - Students should stay in cars until 7:45 AM. And parents who pickup by car need to go through the carline. Thank you for following those 2 important rules.
It is important that we have updated information for all students. At this time, 126 students still need their Parent Portal updated. Please see farther below for a reminder on how to make Parent Portal updates.
I look forward to next week when we will have a full five days with our whole school. And I hope to meet many of you after school at the Chuck E. Cheese PTA event on Morse Road while I stop in! It's been a wonderful start to the school year!
Thank you,
Sharon Suriano
Guest Speaker - Elec Simon
We are excited to share that we welcomed motivational speaker Elec Simon to Middle School West to speak with our 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders today along with Chapelfield and Royal Manor! Elec Simon is a dynamic performer and percussionist who spent over a decade with the hit Off-Broadway show STOMP. He uses his musical talent and high energy to deliver a powerful message about respect, love, and believing in yourself. His assemblies are interactive and engaging, often getting students involved with music and drumming. He aims to inspire students to be themselves and to stay focused on their dreams. Thank you to PTA for sponsoring this opportunity!

Stay in the Game Attendance Network
We are proud to share that GJPS is now an All-Star District in the Stay in the Game! Attendance Network. We believe that student success starts with school attendance, and our shared mission is to prioritize attendance by connecting our learning community to resources aimed at tackling chronic absenteeism.
By working together, we can keep our students in the game and set them up for success. At home, at school and in our community, families and caregivers make a difference in student behavior and can be positive role models for attendance.
Everyone — educators, parents and families, community partners, and even students, can do their part to tackle absenteeism. Take the Attendance Pledge, and help us spread the word to Stay in the Game!
Absence Reporting
If your child is going to be absent from school, please email Ms. McFadden at mcfaddene@gjps.org AND email your student's teacher. Or, you may call to notify the school office attendance line at 614-478-5580 prior to 8:00 a.m.

Fee Payments through Infinite Campus
Dear Gahanna-Jefferson Families,
We want to inform you of an important update regarding the Infinite Campus Payment Portal. Infinite Campus transitioned to “Stripe” as its new merchant service provider. This change affects how online payments are processed for food service accounts and student fees (including instructional, athletic and technology fees).
For the 2025-26 school year, each family will need to update their payment information and re-enter any recurring payments, as your previous data will not carry over from last year.
1. Add Payment Method(s)
Payment methods are used for both food service and school fees. Your current payment information will not be transferred. For security reasons, you must manually re-enter your payment methods.
You can add:
Credit/debit cards
Bank accounts
To validate bank accounts:
Automatic Validation: Log into your bank to confirm.
Manual Validation: A 24-48 hour delay for confirmation.
Steps to Add a Payment Method:
Go to "Food Service" in the Infinite Campus menu.
Click on "My Accounts."
Select the "Payment Methods" box.
Click the blue "New" button, enter your info, and hit "Save."
2. Re-establish Recurring Food Service Payments
Recurring payments will not carry over for security reasons. You must reconfigure them using your newly established payment method.
Steps to Set Up Recurring Payments:
Click on "Food Service" in the Infinite Campus menu.
Select "My Accounts."
Click the "Recurring Payments" box.
Under "Food Service," click "View."
Set your frequency, amount and payment method.
Click "Save."
For more detailed instructions, including screenshots, please see the attached document. There are no other changes to the way you experience online payments.
We appreciate your attention to this important update. If you have any questions or need help, please fill out the Infinite Campus Help Form.
