💚 May = Mental Health Awareness Month
🎯 MENTAL GAME STRONG
We see you. Balancing sports, classes, friendships, family, and everything in between isn't easy. Mental Health Awareness Month is a reminder that your mind deserves care, just like your body. You train hard. Let’s make sure your thoughts, emotions, and stress levels are part of the game plan too.
Remember: You can’t play your best if you don’t feel your best.
📆 Weekly Focus for May
WEEK 1: PRESS PAUSE, PROTECT YOUR PEACE
🏖️ Mental Recovery Tip: After practice or class, give your brain a short break: no screens, no pressure.
📝 Try This: Write down one thing that made you smile today. That is mental fuel.
WEEK 2: WHO YOU ARE > WHAT YOU DO
👤 Real Talk: Your value isn’t based on points, stats, or minutes played.
🧠 Reflection: What are 3 non-sports qualities you are proud of?
WEEK 3: CHECK ON YOUR STRONG FRIENDS (INCLUDING YOU)
🤝 It is okay to not be okay. Talking about stress, anxiety, or pressure does not make you weak, it makes you wise.
💬 Conversation Starter: Hey, I’ve been feeling off lately. You ever feel like that too?
WEEK 4: STAY BALANCED, STAY IN THE GAME
⚖️ Balance Tip: Prioritize your top 3 commitments each week and give yourself permission to rest.
💡 Think: Am I doing this because I have to, or because I’m trying to prove something?

🗣️ COACH’S CORNER: Athletes, Check In on Your Coach
You see your coach every day, pushing you, guiding you, showing up early and staying late. But here’s something we sometimes forget:
Coaches are people too. And they carry a lot.
They’re managing your practices, their own families, game plans, school responsibilities and sometimes, their own stress that no one sees.
🧠 Mental Health Awareness Month is not just for students, it’s for the adults who support you too.
This month and moving forward, try this simple move:
-
Say “Thanks, Coach.”
-
Ask “How are you doing?”
-
Let them know their leadership matters.
💬 "Coach, we appreciate you. We see how hard you work for us."
You never know, your words might be exactly what they needed.
Let’s build a team culture that supports everyone… not just on the scoreboard, but in real life.
💚 Monthly Challenge: #GraceOverGrind
All-Around Athlete Focus
Push yourself—but don’t forget to give yourself grace. Every day in May, do one thing that supports your mental wellness. That might look like:
-
Getting 7–8 hours of sleep
-
Listening to music that lifts your mood
-
Spending 10 minutes away from your phone
-
Taking a walk and breathing deep
📸 Optional: Share your moment on social using #GraceOverGrind to inspire others.

WELLNESS TIP OF THE MONTH
Check In With Yourself
Being an athlete means showing up mentally and physically—and sometimes, showing up means slowing down.
If your mind is overwhelmed, don’t ignore it. Check in with yourself. Talk to someone. Protect your peace.
👉 Remember:
You are more than your performance.
You are more than your pressure.
You are never alone.
