Freshman IAR Reports
If your student took the Illinois Assessment of Readiness and Illinois Science Assessment Test in 8th grade. The test results are in and will be passed out during their Flex class at the beginning of November. If your student didn’t receive them they may have missed the testing day in middle school or your student was new to the district after testing.
Absences and Early Departures-Please call ahead
The district’s educational program is built on the premise that regular attendance is vital to a student’s success. Seeing that a student maintains regular attendance requires a cooperative effort among students, parents/guardians and school personnel. You can click here to view our absentee policy. Calling your student out for lunch is considered an unexcused absence. Unexcused absences can result in school and truancy consequences. Please help the office staff by calling ahead when you plan to pick up your child. Messages can be left anytime of day on the attendance line and students can be given a pass to be waiting in the office for your arrival. Please be understanding of a delay if you forget to call ahead.

Reminders
Be aware of students crossing the parking lot
Do not pull into students parking spaces, go to drop off zone
Students should be dropped off in identified areas only.
Student Parking Reminder
Most students who drive to SHS have been assigned a parking spot, with some students choosing to pay an additional fee for a preferred spot. Moving forward, all students must park in their assigned parking spot.
If you arrive at school and someone is parked in your assigned spot:
Do not park in another student’s assigned spot. This creates a chain reaction and causes parking issues for other students.
Take a picture of the vehicle’s license plate that is parked in your spot.
Park temporarily in one of the diagonal parking spaces located along the former one-way street.
Email the picture of the license plate to Mrs. Moeller so the issue can be addressed.
Need a Temporary Parking Spot?
Students who only need to drive to school for a day or two should email Mrs. Moeller, in advance when possible, and a temporary parking spot will be assigned for those days.
Thank you for helping us keep student parking organized and making sure everyone has access to their assigned space!

Deliveries for Students
Only parents/guardians can deliver lunch for their child.
Students will not be called out of class to pick up their delivery.
All deliveries from parents should be labeled and left on the table in the foyer where their child can pick it up during the next passing period.
No deliveries will be accepted from anyone other than a parent/guardian.
Safety Procedure
Sandwich High School values a safe educational environment for our staff and students. No persons other than the parent/guardian, parent designee, legal guardian, government officials, those pursuant to warrant or subpoena, or school personnel will have permission to see a student during school hours without being verified by showing a drivers license/state issued ID.
All visitors or venders who may need to go beyond the office are required to display a visitors’ badge during their stay and must provide a driver's license/state issued ID to be scanned in order to generate a name badge/ lanyard.Visitors must be escorted at all times while in the building.

Best High Schools Ranking
I am excited to share that U.S. News & World Report has named Sandwich High School one of the top 100 high schools in the metropolitan area in its latest Best High Schools rankings.
What does this recognition mean?
U.S. News evaluated and numerically ranked more than 18,000 public high schools nationwide. Its rankings include national and metropolitan-area results, as well as recognition of STEM and charter schools.
Sandwich High School’s U.S. News profile includes information about student enrollment, graduation rates, demographics, location, school type, state assessment performance, Advanced Placement participation and results, and International Baccalaureate participation and results, where applicable.
Most importantly, this recognition reflects the hard work and commitment of our students and staff. I am incredibly proud to be part of the Sandwich High School community, and I look forward to celebrating many more academic accomplishments together.
