Odyssey of the Mind

Happy November! We are into the swing of both the school year and Odyssey of the Mind. If you haven't already done so, please register your school(s) and team(s) for this year's tournament. See below for information regarding changes to registration this year. The fees have changed and there is a coupon code available.

We will be holding training for coaches on Tuesday November 29 at 6:30pm. This training will be held virtually and will be recorded. See below for more information and how to register.

If you are unsure of your region, see below for more information:

Questar III coordinates the New York State Region 4 tournament for teams in Rensselaer, Columbia and Greene counties each year.

Capital Region BOCES coordinates the New York State Region 7 tournament for teams in Albany, Schenectady, Schoharie, and southern Saratoga counties.

Click the box where your school is listed for more information.

We hope you can find time this busy month to enjoy friends and family. We are thankful that you share your time and talents with our students.

Questar III is still looking for an Odyssey of the Mind Tournament Director for the 2022-23 school year.

If you are interested, please contact Maureen Squier for more information. Please share as appropriate.

We will be holding Coach Training on Tuesday November 29 at 6:30pm. This training will be virtual, and should take approximately an hour. The training session will be recorded and shared afterwards.

Questar III will be holding the Region 4 Tournament on Saturday March 25, 2023 at Coxsackie-Athens CSD (snow date March 26, 2023). We are anticipating a fully in-person tournament, but that is subject to change based on unforeseen circumstances.

To determine your region, please see district listings above.

Capital Region BOCES will be holding the Region 7 Tournament on Saturday March 4, 2023 at Shenendehowa CSD (snow date March 5, 2023). We are anticipating a fully in-person tournament, but that is subject to change based on unforeseen circumstances.

To determine your region, please see district listings above.

The State Tournament will be held on April 15, 2023 at the NYS Fairgrounds in Syracuse. Please note that spring break in our region runs from April 7-April 14. This date is final, please feel free to share with families to allow for any travel plans that families may make.

I understand the timing for this is not optimal, and am advocating with NYSOMA to consider regional spring breaks when scheduling future state tournaments.
