Principal's Message Principal's Message

Good afternoon,

The final bell rang today, and we are heading into our winter break! We want to take a moment to celebrate the incredible energy and growth we’ve seen in our middle schoolers so far this year.

Middle school is a high-energy phase of life. Here are a few ways to help your student recharge into the new year:

  • Prioritize Sleep: Encourage them to catch up on rest so they come back refreshed.

  • Unplug Together: Consider a "tech-free" afternoon or evening to reconnect without screens.

  • Read for Fun: Without the pressure of assignments, it’s a great time to dive into a book just for enjoyment.

Let’s also keep social-emotional and mental health top of mind for our students and ourselves. Please review the Family Resources compiled by the Fremont Mental Health Team and the ReferralGPS program to ensure you have the tools you need for a healthy season.

We are so grateful for your partnership and support in making our school community so vibrant. Whether you are traveling or staying cozy at home, we wish you a safe and joyful winter break.

Two-Hour Late Start Option Added Two-Hour Late Start Option Added

At the December 15 Board of Education meeting, a two-hour late start was reviewed as a new District option in the event of inclement weather or other unforeseen events. By implementing this two-hour delayed start, the District can maintain in-person learning while prioritizing the safety of students and staff. Under this plan:

  • The school day will shift forward by two hours for our K-8 students, and dismissal times will remain unchanged.

    • Elementary & Intermediate Schools

      • Delayed start time: 10:50 a.m.

    • Middle School

      • Delayed start time: 9:55 a.m.

  • Morning student bus times would be exactly two hours later than their regularly scheduled bus stop pick-up time.

  • Lincoln Early Learning Center would see its AM session canceled entirely, while the PM session proceeds as scheduled.

As with any shift in the school day, administration will monitor conditions to determine if conditions are safe for after-school activities.

January 8, 2026 is graduation picture day. First-period teachers will convey students' appointment times for pictures that day. Pictures will be taken during periods 2 and 3, and students will NOT dress for PE on this day.

Photos will be taken in a graduation gown, provided for the photo by the photographer, and also in whatever the student has chosen to wear under the gown. We do NOT wear a graduation cap. Students should wear dress clothes for pictures. Some suggestions include a long-sleeved shirt and tie, dress pants and dressy blouse, skirt and/or dresses. Please note that pants or skirts will show in some of the poses. There will not be time for wardrobe changes during the photoshoot. You can change into more comfortable clothes after your picture is taken.
