The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God will stand forever.

Morning Worship and Devotion
Daily Scripture Focus
Each morning we start the day with a time of singing and a word from scripture. Morning devotion time is a time for focus, learning, and putting God first in what we do each day.
The morning devotion is led by Mr. Yearwood most days, but there are also weekly opportunities for students and faculty members to lead.
Some of the scriptures used this week were:
- Matthew 20:24-28
- Romans 13:1-2
- Proverbs 16:9
Learning to Defend Our Faith
It is our goal and mission to EDUCATE, EQUIP, and SEND our students. If you've been at CCS long, you've heard this said. But what does this really mean? We not only want to make sure that students are properly educated in academic areas, but also we want to make sure that we assist families in equipping them spiritually. Our ultimate goal is to send them out into the world to pursue the mission of being disciples and spreading the gospel to grow the kingdom of God.
Like never before, we are seeing how important it is to learn how to speak truth and defend our faith. Chances are, in some way or another you have been impacted by what is happening in our nation. It seems that it's becoming more and more necessary for Christians to take a stand on what we believe. By following the example of Christ, we can share the truth in love.

They had lots of fun learning how people and things move from place to place. As a part of the learning, students were able to hop on board and see what one of our school buses is like.
Modeling
CCS Junior, Lila Sellers, led the lower school morning devotion on Thursday. We love seeing our older students model Christlike character and leadership for their younger peers!
Rising Leaders
This week a new group of rising leaders emerged with the formation of a junior high praise band. We LOVE seeing our students lead worship! Students who are working to lead have dedicated several mornings that they come in early, before school, to rehearse together and prepare for the service. Thank you parents and Mrs. Warden for helping them make this happen!
Teacher Tailgate Party
The teachers enjoyed a special BBQ lunch treat on Friday.
We want to say a great, big special THANK YOU to the Rice Family, Anna Turner, Kara Breasseale, Julie Weems, Elizabeth Eddleman, Melody Bradley, Molleigh Fields, Sara Willoughby and a host of other parents that took time out of their day to show appreciation to our teachers.
New Seating
The 4th, 5th, and 6th grade students are enjoying some newly donated bench seating on the deck. Thank you to everyone who facilitated this and who weather prepped the benches.
Judah the CCS Lion
Have you seen Judah around school?
Thanks to some volunteers he has had a little make over and has been able to visit campus. If you see Judah around, give him a high five and be gentle with his aging fur!
