The Promise Career Institute Community Newsletter

Greetings PCI Family:
Your Voice Matters: GA Climate Survey Participation Needed!
At The Promise Career Institute, we believe that a strong school community grows from honest feedback, shared experiences, and collective commitment. The Georgia School Climate Survey is one of the most important tools we have to better understand how our students and families feel about safety, relationships, teaching and learning, and the overall environment of our school.
Right now, we need more participation—especially from our 10th and 11th grade students and all families.
Your input helps shape the decisions we make, the supports we provide, and the learning environment we create for every scholar.

Students are Learning About Conflict Resolution in Career Competencies Classes
In our Career Competencies Classes, students are learning about collaborative problem solving as part of the Student Success Skills Curriculum. When students improve conflict resolution skills, they will be better prepared to embrace healthy conflict as an opportunity for growth. Students will practice finding positive ways to respond to gossip and rumors and can help prevent bullying and build healthy relationships. By honing the ability to compromise, students will be better able to seek solutions that will work for everyone when faced with a conflict.
Vision to Learn Screening
Vision To Learn Screening – March 2nd
PCI will host Vision To Learn for student vision screenings on March 2nd during the school day. This service helps identify students who may need an eye exam or glasses at no cost to families.
If a parent or guardian does not want their student to participate, they must send in the opt-out letter prior to the screening date.
February is CTAE Month!!!
At PCI, our Career, Technical, and Agricultural Education (CTAE) program prepares our students for their post-high school journey, whether it’s college, starting a career, pursuing registered apprenticeships, or joining the military. This aligns with our mission of “Our Promise, Your Future.” The PCI pathway offerings are a result of strategic partnerships with industry and higher education, ensuring that our students acquire the essential skills required to excel in the future workforce. #CelebrateCTAE #CTAEDelivers
Love at first Spark: Celebrating CTAE Month Through Craft and CreativityÂ
In honor of CTAE Month, we are proud to spotlight our Welding pathway students, who put their technical skills and creativity on full display by crafting hand-made metal roses just in time for Valentine’s Day.
These roses represent more than a thoughtful gesture, they showcase precision welding, attention to detail, and the ability to transform raw materials into meaningful, lasting works of art. Through this project, students applied industry-aligned skills such as cutting, shaping, welding, and finishing metal while also learning the value of craftsmanship and pride in their work.
Projects like this highlight the heart of CTAE: blending technical skill, creativity, and real-world application. We are incredibly proud of our welding students for proving that career readiness can be both powerful and rewarding.

Dear PCI Families,
We are excited to introduce our PCI Access Plan; a structured system designed to strengthen communication between home and school and ensure every student has the support needed for academic success. As partners in your child’s education, we value your engagement and want to provide clear opportunities for regular check-ins with teachers.
Family Responsibilities
To help your child stay on track, families are encouraged to:
Review grades and progress reports regularly via Canvas and Infinite Campus and respond to communication from teachers.
- Discuss academic progress with your child and encourage participation in tutoring or extended learning as needed.
- Engage with teachers through PCI Access Plan touchpoints whenever concerns arise or additional clarification is needed.
Touchpoint 1: Progress Pop‑Ins
Progress Pop‑Ins are an opportunity for families to have a quick, focused check‑in with their child’s teachers.
đź“… When: Every Wednesday
⏰ Time: 3:30 PM – 4:15 PM
đź—“ Begins: February 25
⏳ Duration: 10-minute meetings
Purpose of Progress Pop‑Ins:
- Provide quick academic or behavioral updates
- Address concerns early
- Offer clarity on assignments and classroom expectations
- Strengthen home–school communication
How to Sign Up
Families must sign up using the link below:
đź”— https://tinyurl.com/PCIpopins
Please note:
Progress Pop‑Ins are family‑initiated
- Families must sign up for each teacher they wish to meet with.
- Example: If you would like to meet with Mr. Anderson and Ms. Bennett, you will need to complete two separate sign‑ups—one for each teacher.
- Each teacher has a capacity of 5 parents per Wednesday.
- Once spots are filled, families will need to sign up for the following week.
- Families are signing up to reserve a space, not a specific time slot within the 3:30–4:15 window.
The sign-up link will be available on the PCI website.
We look forward to continuing our partnership to ensure your child thrives at PCI. If you have any questions about the PCI Access Plan or Progress Pop‑Ins, please don't hesitate to reach out.
Thank you for your continued support!
