Henry Happenings

At Henry, we talk and learn often about our four core values—Kindness, Responsibility, Inclusivity, and Perseverance. These values aren’t just words on the wall; they are qualities we practice every day.

One way we bring them to life is through our Buddy Class program which traditionally happens on half days throughout the year. Each class is paired with another, giving students the chance to connect, collaborate, and learn together. This past Wednesday, students met with their buddy class for the very first time, and it was inspiring to see the friendships and teamwork beginning to grow.

Please take a moment to ask your child about their buddy class experience—what they enjoyed, what they learned, and how they showed our core values during this special time.

The kiosk is located in the vestibule at Henry. First, bring your ID to the window at Henry to check with our office staff and ensure you have the correct permissions in Infinite Campus to enter. After you have signed in and printed your visitor badge, please hit the door buzzer to request entrance to the building.

Thank you for your help keeping our students and staff safe and secure!

Supporting Our Students' Well-Being

To better understand how our students are feeling about school, we'll be giving social-emotional learning (SEL) surveys this fall and spring to students in grades 3-5, as well as to staff regarding their students at all grade levels.

These quick 15-minute surveys ask students about important topics like:

• How safe they feel at school

• Their sense of belonging in our school community

• Their relationships with classmates and teachers

• Their overall school experience

When: Sept. 22 - Oct. 17

What it helps us do: Identify ways to make Henry an even better place for learning and growing

If you have a summer reading log, please have your child turn it into the library by Friday, September 26th. This is for current 1st-5th grade students only, please contact Mrs. Goyal at agoyal@parkwayschools.net with questions. Thank you!

Kindergarten families, when you get a chance, kindly bring your welcome yard sign back to the front office or drop it through the pick up/drop off line. We appreciate your help—thank you so much!

Dental Safari is coming to Henry Elementary on October 14. Forms were sent home this week to sign your student(s) up for a dental cleaning and sealants if needed. If you prefer to complete this online, please use the link below. This is a convenient way to see the dentist right here at school and promote good oral hygiene at an early age. Please contact me if you have any questions. Forms should be returned to Nurse Baker as soon as possible.

Henry is an amazing school, but we need your support to offer additional great opportunities for our children. Please look at the following list of activities to see if there is one or many items you can support. Some can be done from home and many are done on the weekend or the evening. If you have questions about volunteering please reach out to Kariroehr@gmail.com (Volunteer Coordinator).

We are still looking for volunteers to help with our classroom parties - sign up now to help us fill the remaining spots!

FALL PARTY - Tuesday, November 25, 2025

SPRING PARTY – Thursday, March 12, 2026

Please note, we have updated times for this year's parties:

Grade K - 12:30-1:30
Grade 1 - 10:00-11:00
Grade 2 - 1:10-2:10
Grade 3 - 1:55-2:55
Grade 4 - 10:45-11:45
Grade 5 - 11:45-12:45

Classroom parties at Henry would not be possible without our volunteers! There are two ways to help:

1. We are looking for TWO room parents per classroom to help plan and lead both the Fall & Spring parties.
2. We also need additional party volunteers to help on the day of the party. Party volunteers can sign up to help at either the Fall or Spring party or both!

Please consider signing up to help - we need both room parents and party volunteers to help make our classroom parties a success!
