December

Every month, the counselor lessons align with our Journey of a Blue Devil competencies. This month we are focused on empathy. When we define what empathy is, we define it as putting yourself in someone else's shoes or being able to understand someone else's feelings. During the counselor lessons this month, students will learn how to show compassion to others. This can be done by offering a helping hand, saying kind things, seeing things from another's perspective and apologizing.

This month also marks new small group lunch bunches that have started. During small group students have a fun opportunity to interact with their peers while learning life skills through various activities. Some of the topics we discuss in groups include emotion management, skills for learning, social skills and responsible decision making. Have questions about groups? Please feel free to email me!

What Did I Miss?

November counselor lessons were focused on learning what empathy is and why having empathy is important. Empathy is one of our Journey of a Blue Devil competencies that we want all students to learn!

The first round of small groups has also come to an end. If you have any questions or are wanting to access resources that align with the small group lessons your child attended, please reach out to me via email.
