MTMS Wolf Wire
August 21, 2026
MT's purpose is to educate and empower students to become responsible citizens.
A Few Words From the Principal
We are so glad to have everyone back at MT for another wonderful year! This week we all have been taking time to get to know each other and our expectations. Thursday we had our first class meeting, and students worked collaboratively to identify what our expectations are here at MT. They emphasized being kind to one another, the Ways of the Wolf (Respectful, Responsible, and Kind), dress code, phones, lunch/hallway voices, keeping hands to yourself, appropriate bathroom use, bullying, CHAMPS, appropriate computer use, and being prepared for high school. They did such a nice job reviewing our expectations, that we were able to spend much of our time introducing the new faces around MT and setting goals for the year. We met with 7th grade today during WIN and 6th grade we will meet with on Monday.

Attendance Information
To ensure the safety of our students, please report all full-day absences (illness, etc.) and late arrivals due to morning appointments by 8:30 a.m. You may call the school attendance line at 913-422-5854 or use the online absence reporting form. The school will call to follow-up with unreported absences after 8:30. Students arriving tardy after 7:55 must enter through the front office doors (you are not required to escort late students inside, but if your student is late due to an appointment, please report it to the office so their attendance is appropriately marked or make sure they bring in an appointment note when they arrive).
Students are allowed ten (10) days of excused absences per school year without an accompanying doctor’s note. (This includes illness and “parent request” absences, which should be coordinated with the school in advance). Absences in excess of ten (10) without accompanying documentation will be considered unexcused. Missing a substantial portion of a day (three (3) or more class periods) shall be considered one "day."
You are not required to notify the office in advance if you will be checking a student out during the school day for an appointment. Please have your ID ready at the door, state your student's name and indicate you are checking them out, and complete the student check out inside and we will call your student from class at that time. Students will only be released to parent/guardians or emergency contacts listed in Skyward unless coordinated in advance with the school.
Visiting the School
A reminder that it is district policy that all adults requesting entry into the building are required to present their ID to the door camera before being granted entry to the building. Thank you for having your ID ready when you ring the bell!
JostensPIX School Photos
School pictures are ready (or will be very soon)! In order to view and order your student's pictures, you will need to create an account with Jostens. It is imperative that you create your account with the email address that was provided to JostensPIX by MTMS. You should have received a reminder email from Jostens to that account before picture day.

Construction at MT this Year
Please help us keep our students safe! Do not park in the parking lot or in the space between the rows for afternoon pickup. Use the car loop pictured below. There will be administrators and teachers out assisting in the morning and afternoon, to keep everyone safe. Please pay attention to the directions they are giving and allow more time for drop off and pickup the first few weeks. It is imperative that you do not park and have your student walk through the parking lot. We want everyone to arrive safely.
