Closing out 2025
What a fabulous Newcomb week! From games and themed dress days to holiday activities, parties, a middle school teacher holiday lunch, and an abundance of joyful spirit… it was the perfect way to head into winter break.
On the Foundation side, thanks to your generosity, the Foundation committed a record-breaking $218,488 for the 2026–2027 school year, helping protect teacher positions and vital programs amid deep district budget cuts reminding us how powerful our community truly is when we come together. Newcomb’s Junior Girl Scout Troop 4523 helped organize a much-needed sock drive on campus, and we are thrilled to share that our community truly showed up!
An incredible number of socks—ranging in size from toddler to adult—were generously donated. Our nurse’s office is now fully stocked for the rest of the year, and many students from other schools will also benefit from your kindness and generosity.

The 15th annual Run Like it’s Recess 5k, 1k and Toddler Dash is just around the corner. This event every year takes place off campus in our beautiful Eldorado Park with many events to choose from for your level of ability. There’s competition, food, music, activities, medals, and a whole lot of fun. Please join us in celebrating our community and Newcomb PTSA Sunday January 25, 2026.
***T-shirt orders due January 6, 2026 to get a 15th Annual Newcomb approved apparel Run Like it’s Recess T-shirt. This is a hard deadline because of the quantity needed by race day.

Foundation Update
Dear Newcomb Academy Community,
In the face of district budget cuts that directly impacted staffing and student programming, the Newcomb Academy Foundation and our community stepped up in an unprecedented way. I am incredibly proud to share that we have committed $218,488 to support the 2026–2027 school year. This is the largest financial commitment the Foundation has ever made to our school.
Because of this extraordinary accomplishment, we were able to support 4 teacher salaries and an additional recaid. We were also able to preserve essential programs. At a time when difficult decisions were being made at the district level, your generosity helped provide stability for our teachers and continuity for our students. This is a powerful reminder of how when we work together we really do make a difference.
This funding achievement belongs to our entire community. Every donation, fundraiser attended, and every volunteer hour contributed helped bridge critical funding gaps and directly support our students. I am deeply grateful to our families and donors for their generosity.
I also want to extend my heartfelt thanks to our dedicated Foundation Board. The leadership, passion, and tireless fundraising efforts of these parent volunteers make this commitment possible.
As we mark this funding milestone, I invite you to continue being part of this important work. Please consider making a donation, attend a Foundation board meeting, volunteer, and help spread the word. Your involvement truly makes a difference. Together, we can continue to support our teachers, protect the programs our students rely on, and ensure that Newcomb Academy not only endures, but thrives.
