NES ParentNewsletter 04/27/26April 27, 2026

Dear NES Families,

Thank you to everyone who attended our Family STEM Day! Our students truly enjoyed having their families join them for hands-on activities in science, math, engineering, and technology. It was a wonderful experience, and we look forward to offering more opportunities like this in the future.

As a reminder, next week we will hold our Quarter 4 PBIS Mini Bash. These are grade-level celebrations for students who are eligible by having no referrals and earning enough Dunkin’ Dough to attend. Please note that all students begin with a clean slate on April 22nd and still have the opportunity to earn the end-of-quarter Mega Bash, which will be a fun Water Day!

We ask for your continued support in reminding students of the importance of keeping their hands to themselves, using appropriate language, and seeking help from adults when conflicts arise as these are our most common behaviors resulting in referrals.

We also have a couple of important appreciation days coming up:

  • Tuesday, April 28th: School Bus Appreciation Day
  • Friday, May 1st: School Lunch Hero Day

Please join us in celebrating these essential members of our school community with a smile, a wave, or a simple “thank you” for all they do to safely transport and nourish our students each day.

This is our last week for Tutoring Bootcamp for students who are attending. The final session is Wednesday, April 29th.

State assessments begin on May 1st, please begin now preparing your students for a solid sleep schedule and getting to school on time each day to prevent those upset feelings prior to testing when they arrive tardy, feel tired or rushed. We look forward to seeing the growth they have made all year!

We hope everyone has a wonderful weekend! 🌟

Systematically and chronically inflicting physical hurt or psychological distress on one or more students or employees. Bullying includes instances of cyberbullying, as defined in Section 1006.147(3)(b), F.S. Bullying may include, but is not limited to, repetitive instances of teasing, social exclusion, threats, intimidation, stalking, physical violence, theft, harassment, public or private humiliation, or destruction of property. If the physical harm or psychological distress is not the result of systematic or chronic behavior, evaluate for Harassment.

Examples

  • Student uses a cell phone to take a picture of a student using the bathroom at school and shares it electronically.
  • Student repeatedly spreads nasty rumors at school about another person.
  • Student repeatedly teases another person in a mean way, calling him/her inappropriate names, making fun of his/her appearance, or the way he/she talks, dresses, or acts.

Non-Examples
